AutoComplete
Don't you just hate it when you're using a search engine and it automatically gives you suggestions for what you're typing in, based on what you have searched for in the past? Well, if you're like me, it bugs you to no end! This little bugger is called autocomplete and here's how you can stop it!
If you're using Internet Explorer (5.0 or higher), just go to Tools, Internet Options and choose the Content tab. Then click on the AutoComplete button. This will bring up a control panel where you can turn AutoComplete on or off for Web addresses, forms or passwords.
Just uncheck the choices that say "Web addresses" and "forms" to keep previous search engine entries and visited Web site addresses from coming up as you type in new searches.
In Firefox, go to Tools, Options and choose the Advanced icon. Under Accessibility, make sure the choice that says "Begin finding when you begin typing" is unchecked.
Sounds simple enough to eliminate some frustration from your everyday life, right?!
