Hi Jess,
Dilautids ..... I remember doing those.  What a powerful rush they had!

Do you think you could get an increase in your methadone dose?  Maybe you're not getting enough if you're still craving pill's and thinking about shooting up all the time.

I know the needle is a hard addiction in itself.....just shooting up and all that, it's hard to break the needle habit for most people.  It takes alot of time. And hard work and determination!  But it can be done.

Can I ask how old you are?  How long have you been shooting up dilautids?  I think I seen one of your posts before here, but my memory is crap these days.....if not:  WELCOME to HOH.

luv,sue

Miss Shordy, Its great to hear from you again.
I think if you up your dose of methadone you would have less cravings, and you would be increasing your endorphin levels and you might feel more normal, as they say, lol.
Are you in therapy?
I know or me, i use to smoke pot every single day, every minute of the day until i got into therpy and slowly unpeeled that onion which was my emotions.
Its hard work but well worth it, your worth it!!  Love Karen

Its very normal to still crave your drug of choice for quite awhile--theres only one answer that I'm aware of & thats to keep raising your dose until the cravings go away --plus once your meth dose is high enough you won't feel the Ds    & you'll realize that you're wasting your $$---Hang in there & raise your dose--it'll work for you--if you give it a chance-I promise you---

Hi there Miss Shordy,

I just want to say the same thing that everyone else has, cuz it's true:  you probably need to raise your dose!  Methadone has been a lifesaver for me as well, and I was lucky enough to have an awesome counselor at my clinic who explained it to me this way:  if you're still using or obsessing, you need to raise your dose.  Don't pay attention to numbers, because everybody is different - you need to find the level that's right for you.  Another thing that helped with the empty feeling after I stopped using was getting on antidepressants.  It was a night and day difference between being on them and not - I actually felt like living life again and doing things, instead of wallowing in the emptiness, wondering what the point of it all was...   Anyhow, don't worry about how you're feeling now, it's totally normal and recovery takes time - just make sure you're letting the methadone work for you by being on the correct dose.

Best wishes and take care,
Sophia

If you can still feel the effects of additional opiates taken on top of your dose you aren't on a high enough dose yet. A theraptuic dose reduces cravings, keeps you totally well, and blocks the effects of any additional opiates taken on top of your dose. Raise your dose so you can fully benefit from methadone treatment. I've been clean since July 4th 06. I have been on methadone off and on many times over the last eight years, this time I've been on since Feb 06. I continued to use until I got my dose high enough. There is a website called AtWatchdog. It's all about methadone and they have a message board too. Check it out-
