Our Mandate At  Heritics of Heroin (yes we know it's misspelled)

This group is open to all people who have been touched by the wrath of addiction. Be you addict, ex addict, chipper, mother, father, sister, brother, lover, concerned human being or friend; if you're looking to ask questions, help answer a few or share personal stories then this would be the place.   No matter creed, color, spiritual faith or where you're at in your addiction..all are welcome. Heritics of Heroin hopes to provide a safe haven for anyone in need of a place they can come to without fear of recognition, ridicule or labels.   It is not the purpose of this group to try and change anyone. Rather it is a place allowing for the discovery of 'self,' the why's and why not's, the souls seeking of shelter on a stormy day, the wish to share on a better day or the need to reach out on any day. Opiates are not the sum of our whole, rather they are a part of our whole. To a greater or lesser degree, like laughter is a part of our make-up, opiates have also become a part of us, it does not mean we are 'bad' people, it simply means we are human. Some have come to understand or feel they cannot remove this part from their whole, some can sometimes, some have removed this piece of themselves forever; and others still, wonder if indeed it can ever be removed. We should first ask if we want to remove drugs from our lives because of someone else's wish, or is it because we really want it for ourselves.  Herein lies only one of this groups many purposes..to find that answer and to come to understand if our struggle to refrain is indeed of our own making and desire. If it is not our own, then we suffer greatly. When we do anything without our hearts consent we are doing it in vain. The hope then, is to come to terms with this part of ourselves and to live as productive and satisfying a life possible without the guilt, stigma and pain some in society have seen fit to lie at the feet of all addicts. HoH is a website where Heroin addicts (& all drug addicts), their families & friends can share their stories of Addiction & Recovery, Tears & Laughter..We are TOTALLY non judgemental & basically "Anything goes" except Drug Dealing or Spam.
