I'd put this mostly out of my mind until writing a response to an email tonight brought it back. This was from '93. It's been edited to delete stuff meant for the person who wrote me off list ... thought the rest might go here.

Just woke up from a long pass-out type nap on the couch - fell out pretty much as soon as I got home from work. A friend emailed me with an address to send some flowers to so my DH woke me up. This is the third funeral I've dealt with in as many months. Shit. Anyway, speaking of meth for pain control is interesting to me; my Mother was on it for a while when she was dying of cancer (and yes I stole some from her along with some other opiates. Didn't know what to expect with the meth.) My sis is a doc and an aunt an RN so there was way lots of stuff around for a while, she died at home. Still regret not getting my hands on some of the morphine (Huge bottle in my memory!!). About killed me to watch sis dump it down the toilet (we were her "witnesses" that she did that since we were at Mom's house) and a little surprised I didn't snatch it from her. Ironically, I asked a couple of friends to house-sit while the family was attending the services both here in town and burial service in Mom's home town (it was an all-day affair with the travel) and either one of them or one of their friends who kept them company ripped us off for all the narcs still in the house while we were gone. That didn't seem to matter as much as the camera that came up missing too, since it had the last pics of Mom still on the film in it...  But I digress...
