Liam, Do you know how lucky you are???
Some people who get pericarditis don't make it, and most
that do end up needing a heart transplant in order to live.
I am so glad you were spared that awful fate.
You have alot to be thankful for, and I am glad your are
around to see it.

If anyone who is reading this still uses here is a
suggestion: make sure you cook your dope really well. If you
speedball make sure you cook the coke as well as the heroin. I
always used to think that cooking coke would cause it to
evaporate or be weaker in some way. It doesn't. I ended up
getting pericarditis from dirty dope that hadn't been cooked
well enough. You get peri-endo carditis from bacteria from the
drug getting in your blood stream and going to your heart.
Endocarditis is an infection of the heart valve, pericarditis is
an infection of the lining of the heart. It started with over a
day or two having increasing difficulty in breathing. By the
third day I felt like an elephant was standing on my chest. I
had to stay sitting up because when I would lay down I could
hardly breath. It was extremely painful. And, of course who
wants to take time out of your dope slamming schedule to go to a
hospital where who knows if the cops will come or they'll keep
you and you end up sick. So, when I literally couldn't breathe
hardly at all I finally went to emergency where they admitted me
to ICU for six days. They kept me heavily sedated for a few days
and gave me IV antibiotics. It sucked really bad and I had never
even heard of it before. So kids, if you're still gettin'
loaded, cook that dope and keep your outfits as bacteria free as
possible. | |
