I'm not considering suicide. However I appreciate the concern. I know that when you get clean your life instantly gets better. Even if its only in little ways at first it begins to improve almost instanttly . The thing for me is maintaining that sobriety. I must continue to do the work nessesary to stay clean. That includes meetings of N.A. and hangin with sober people. If I don't do those things i'm doomed to pick up. So thank you everybody for your concern but you're not getting rid of me that easily. heh.  Don't pick up no matter what , even if your ass falls off.

Hey Zep,

Glad to hear your reply. I had a feeling what your wrote was a possible way to vent or keep the realities of using just that, a possible reality.

You have a lot to say and I'm always interested in hearing your point of view.

God Bless, Jack

I dunno about instantly better. Things change, your body is free from the toxins which makes you feel better physically. Bills get paid. You get a 'normal' stamp on your forehead. Thing is - psycologically it takes A LONG TIME for things to change, then even longer for you to realise it has.

JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON.
What is the point of working so damn hard if you don't get to the good bit at the end?!!!

IT DOES GET EASIER -
it just doesn't feel like that for a while.

Right you are, things will get better. But it will take time. The thing is remember the years we were on, and how long have we been sober? So we just can't expect things just get back to norm just like that. First thing first, and the first thing is the mind and the body will follow. The rest will just be coming along in due time.We can't rush it, after lossing so much, we just wants to get it all back. And that kind of stress is not what we need at the moment. At times things lost just can't be found back and we too need to learn to accept our losses. What is past is the past and start a new begining. That is the new life we need, not our old ways. Our old junkie days are over, so lets start anew! And this is just right for the thanks giving now. This is what we really need to give thanks to. a new life, a new begining! And not just because of some turkey! loh.

Hey Pax4evernow1

All the points you made you right on target and I had to agree with everything you said. Very valid and a good way to look at things. Gave me a few things I need to work on so thanks for your post.
