Good Morning All,,,

While having my 1st mug of coffee this morning,,,I recalled a song my dad sang while drinking,,,he was singing whenever he wasnt passed out it seems to me,,,lolol...I remember I wasted some damn good dope on that man yet thats another story...Anyway,,,the song had the refrain "ohhhhh the doors swing in,,,the doors swing out,,,while some pass in and others pass out"...LOL...I had always remembered the song to be just another silly drinking song,,,today it took on another meaning for me...Life is just one big door that swings open and shut on a continuim...Opportunity is there and then its gone...Light is there then darkness...It is up to us to keep doors open or allow them to close and during life that choice comes to us at many times in space....Sometimes it is best to close the door,,,sometimes its best to open it...Clarity and wisdom come when one knows the difference in taking the action and not allowing others or inaction to made the choice for us.....Keep the Faith......FC

fc,

lol!  Your dad sounds a lot like mine was.  Always singing these little tunes.  The 'happy drunk'!   No, my dad wasn't drunk all the time, but he did like his beer. (he was Irish, red hair and all)   Only after it got dark outside though.   I think that was the big rule:  no drinking until dark time. lol.

But I cant remember all the little diddys he sang, I know he sang one about "16 men on a deads man chest"   ? something about a bottle of rum?

I KNOW I cant go deep into the lyrics and get a life lesson from his songs like you do.  You are so wise, FC.
