things can change thank God for that,
i was once strangled up by my past,
the freedom to use doesn't come cheap,
it came at a cost im now a freak.

not a freak of nature but a freak to the core,
im no longer ripping you of to score,
im thinking of others and what i can do,
trying to help myself get through.

things can change thank God for that,
a look in my eyes will verify that,
a hopeless helpless junkie that's me,
somewhere out there i was lost at sea.

i did come ashore on occassion from sea,
couldn't understand why no-one knew me,
things can change on dry land i stand,
watching the tide with friends by my side,

no longer in pain or affraid to feel,
no longer a joke or the shit on a heel,
more to come from the one who was numb,
i can change so things certainly do

Excellent work. You're a good writer, and I love how positive you are.

You certainly hit home with alot of points. Stay on dry land. I know you can. Thanks too. You put into words alot that I feel.

Yet again, you speak from your heart, stay positive and stay ashore
With love in recovery
