Demons Grin

Blinded by the spike
Devoured by addiction
Tainted blood and poison
Lost in the affliction
Speeding like a freight train
Through tracks of veins decayed
Forever lost in time
Silence loudly played
Loneliness is knocking
On mirrored panes of glass
Memories of yesterday
Only come to pass
Broken hearts are littered
Where demons left and smiled
Now there is a junkie
Where once there was a child.

LabRat,
Well done.

Want to comment, tho. The child is never gone. The child behaves like a junkie, but the child isn't gone.

My daughter died this February. The addiction was in control, but my child wasn't gone.

Love,
Rosemarie's Mom

Dear Labrat

your poems speak to my soul, lost for years due to addiction. I hope I can get back to some creative thought once I go on suboxan. I hate loosing those creative energies and only in withdrawal do I have wild rides of needing to write down poems, songs, and melodies. Why is that? Does it happen to all in withdrawal? My withdrawal also causes such painful nightmares of my xhusband and his cheating on me and being abusive. It has been ten years and those nightmares only come so vividly when I am in withdrawal. Please pray that tomorrow I can sleep and get onto suboxan without withdrawal.

Barbara

Hi Angel,

I think you get creative when you're in withdrawal because for some strange reason pain cause's one to be more in tune with their feelings, and if you are any kind of creative, pain will cause your creativity to come out.

Thats what I've heard, anyway.  Like, I've always heard that comedians are so funny cause they're in pain.  Artists are depressed a lot.  Musicians are so difficult to live with cause they're also depressed/in pain.

Hey, good luck on your detox.  I sure hope everything goes good for you.  And:  WELCOME!
luv,
sue
