That Flower
My lovely warm friend Why have you deserted me in my quietest hour.
Your kiss stings but a moment and I'm flying free careless of how me, you devour.
I'm melting, sinking, forever dreaming that waking state, half dreams, half sleep sleep is not the gift of which you shower.
Gradually, you leave me fully wake, ready to leap to chase you once again, precious flower. |

That was awesome. I mean it. You read so much shit online, so much "poetry," that it's amazing how this site has the most talent of any I've encountered so far. What is it about heroin addicts that makes us such good writers? Something to ponder .... |

Hi, Your message about addicts being good writers is one I believe. But, ironically, only when I am in extreme withdrawal and getting back to being clean, do the songs, poems and writings come to me. The drugs block any creativity. I am hoping that by getting off percocett tomorrow and going on suboxan i can think and create again. Pray for me Barbara |

Hi! Thanks for that. Yeh, I don't know what it is about H addicts... Maybe the inner creativity draws us into the drug world and that dream sleep where our imagination can run free rather than the drug doing it to us.... I haven't been here in a while. Having my ups and downs, not so down, just still getting off. Bought to go bout 3 with methadone. This time the attempt is not for me but for my unborn child... Haven''t actually reached that point where I wanted to leave it forever behind, but just wanted a break to get away from the addiction.... heh... But I have had some pretty good ideas when nodding. One is a movie if I can ever motivate myself to write it in time b4 someone else comes out with it. ~Chuv |

Hi Chuv, Im glad to hear from you. Your expecting a baby?? There is a group online that is for pregnant women on Methadone. Its run by a neo natal nurse name Sharon who became a methadone advocate, I will get the link for the website and let you know. I do know its important to stay on a stable dose while your expecting a baby. I wish you all the luck in the world, Love Karen |
