I'm glad you are still here - I thought you had left!
I like your quote about specialization - knowing more and more about less and less. You are right about this not holding up too well from an evolutionary standpoint. I don't know, it's all so big and it's all so messed. I'm still tripping on that movie "Inconvenient Truth," but I guess I don't have to tell you about that - you are from New Orleans.
It's amazing to me that there is so much going in to running the machine and most of the time it's so seamless that no one even sees it. But occasionally it becomes aparent. My personal conspiracy theory of the month is that the government doesn't have any intention of providing the poor people with things like nutritious food and education, because if those people get too strong they will notice their surroundings, and probably get so angry they'll do something about it. No wonder the goverment is fine with so many drugs everywhere, whatever the laws may be, they are doing nothing to really help anyone. It's like an old Dead Kennedy's song that said something like "if college kids are so interested in beer they won't even notice you are building a bomb in their backyard." It's all pretty scary stuff. I'm sorry if this post is very scattered, but somehow I think you'll probably be able to follow it.
Keep your eyes open always, but don't let it own you.
