I agree C..we have to be very careful about stuff like this..what was meant as harmless can be and often is..taken very, very seriously by the likes of the KKK & hard core supremacist groups et al. We can't blame the very people who built our countries for our problems today..that just doesn't make sense to me..never has and never will. Just because the countries they come from are different today should make 'no' difference.
I have quite a few American friends who are very upset at the immigration set-up in the states today...and I think it's first reaction to blame the 'people.' Maybe because it's the first things they see at street level...like the troops in the trenches so to speak instead of the big guns who call the actual shots.
We need to look to the very governments who in their rush to be the biggest & very best at everything have grossly underestimated and overlooked the fundemental backbone & sweat of how our great countries came to be. Both my parents were 1st generation immigrants.mom from Germany..dad from British Guyana. At the time..just after the 2nd world war..Canada was advertizing for new citizen's to come over...what a difference a 3 or 4 decades make.
