O.K. this effects me directly in many, many ways.
I don't hate anyone. I try not to lump people, culture, and such all into one mold, and I am not a poet so can't respond to the poem in a cute, flow.
I have a mom. She is elderly. O.K. fine many have one. My dad was a police officer for 36 years. Mom stayed home until my youngest brother got out of eighth grade. I can tell you the day before paydays we went through coats, and down cushions to look for quarters so we could get something to eat. Or we could make a "bill" they called it at the corner store. Three kids in Catholic school equalled tuition, uniforms, books etc. People had pride and didn't go crying what my grandmom calls "Poor Mouth" or "Beggar on horseback". My mom went to a job where she stood ten hours a day after that. As soon as we could get working papers we all went to work too. Only ONE of us got to go to College. The bright, intelligent, join every group in school one just so when SAT's came and resume's and applications he had a better chance. MINORITIES? They got extra points. Same as with any type of work in the East Coast. Minority? You get immediate extra ten points on City Job tests. This means my middle class white brother with three kids of his own got flying colors on the Fire Fighter tests. Your EMT is not him. It's someone given extra points who fills the minority quota. It also makes people that work together sucpicious of eachother. It does not help with commaraderie one bit. Meanwhile college brother is the shinning star. Mommy's money from standing ten hours went on his books. He ate and this is not a lie tomatoe soup almost every night in his very prestigious school. He never complained.
Back to the poem. My dad promptly drops dead after only being retired one year almost. One year not even. Served 36 years. It was Christmas day. That next day they cut that pension right in half on my mom. CUT IN HALF. Now with that she still has to pay the mortgage. Oh, right Ma'am I'm sorry you have no more health coverage. You'll have to pay for that yourself. You are not covered. Almost three hundred dollars now comes out of that half a pension. I go to get her medicine, and her health plan sucks. Ring, ching that'll be $240.00. Ohhhhhhhh, and Mr. SianLingKuanSingYung here you go ya got five scripts for your 85 year old dad just arrived last year to our fair country. SLAP that ACCESS card right here. No charge.
Now if that don't piss somebody off what does. I'm sorry and it's not the immigrants fault, but my freaking parents and grandparents helped build this country and my Palastinian, Hmong, Vietnamesse, Jordanian, Albanina neighbors get all their food free. Put your small food purchase up on that supermarket belt, and watch some poor elderly, WWII vet dig through change, and see the lobster, and chocolate expensive ice cream an immigrant puts up there and here comes that ACCESS card.
My neighborhood was middle class. We are now lower middle class and sinking real fast. Why? The MOFO Chinese who combed the neighborhood in their Lexus, and Mercedes all with NYC plates. Buy up all the properties, and RENT. Absentee landlords. They go back to NYC, and leave me to need to reinforce my home to protect my family from the riff raff that rent here. No lawn cutting, no snow shovel, twelve people in an apartment and cops constantly at the door. My kid has to walk past this crap. We sleep in shifts. These renters will come through your skylight, and rob you or worse. In case you have one put barbed wire up there.
What's right about any of this? My child, and children of her age group will get no Social Security. Between cases of baby formula going out free, and all the fancy duds on these people why the hell would a kid EVER have an incentive to go to work? Why? So they'll pay for someone else to eat cake while they work their ass off?
Elderly people from virtually every Goddamn country in the globe are here. They stay at home and one small child is delegate to stay out of school to help granny and gramps understand how to receive the UPS truck that brings new TV, son. Their parents are working somewhere and I am certain very hard, but illegally and why blame them.
We're the stupid A-Holes. My greatgrands were immigrants. NOBODY handed them anything. They learned English and taught their children that English was to be spoken outside. Only German indoors to keep your heritage and culture. They worked their asses off. They made this country or helped anyway. For what? For some lousy, piece of crap, bitch a block up from me who has eight kids. EIGHT. Middle East decent they are. EIGHT friggging kids, and she has a vehicle? I have no frigging car. EIGHT kids, and she parks in the handicap spot. HANDICAP and has the balls when my friend asked her to move as her husband is CRIPPLED. Crippled, and WAS a cop for 30 years, and got kicked the frig out of rehab cause his time was up with his insurance. This bitch has the audacity to say to my friend "Fuck you, I am allowed to use this. I have many, many children. I need to be close to my house".
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, it's frigging illegal A-hole. The sign is there for handicap. My friend had to get it put up. Get a application, and all and fight to get the damn spot in front of her own freaking house. So we hand over food for the eight kids. We educate them. Their medicine is free. Their healthcare is free. Each child born she gets another damn welfare check or something. Then the gaul. I mean this chick is one hard ass bitch. I thought Muslims were supposed to be peaceful. Oh, and no need for these big ass SUV thingies, honey. This ain't the frigging desert. I would love to knock her and her eight kids on their asses. I would not dare. I avoid even looking at her. Althgough it's difficult given in, and out with eight kids. On 9/11 as the girl next door ran out of her house in tears as we all did to go get our kids at school this woman exited the same time. My friend was in tears. This lady said "NOW YOU KNOW WHAT WE SUFFER EVERY SINGLE DAY". WTF? What you suffer? You were in the backyard blow up pool all summer. You got a seashore vacation. What the hell ya talking bout and even if ya just arrived here last week why in God's earth would you DARE say that to an American? No good, lousy middle eastern piece of crap.
My mom? We all have put in to get her healthcare insurance. We're helping pay her mortgage. She has no frigging car and never did. She can't get a break on utilities. Immigrants immediately do. She always was so proud. Her generation wouldn't take a cent of welfare. Guess what? You listen to enough bullshit, and watch that expensive food you can't have get slapped on a food stamp card ya just may get pissed off enough. My mom is exactly $23 dollars over to get any kind of help. They don't include those frigging bills. Don't include she got a roof falling in, and steps collapsing. Tough shit Mrs. America now move on as a brand spanking new 67 year old immigrant needs to apply and they'll partake in that Social Security you worked your ass for.
Sorry, this hit the nail on the head for me. Of course it is NOT all immigrants. Some work so hard all hours of the day, but then again they get a mortgage or loan with an EXTREMELY LOW interest rate you or I are not eligible for. make ya want to become a frigging heroin addict, not clean up, need mental health care daily, and try to get social security disability. Honest to God there are days I think about that when some haughty MOFO immigrant gets smart ass with me in line at the store.
Come to America. We'll give ya what ya need. What ya want. Care for you long, long time, and please do not learn English. Not even attempt. We;ll learn your language and push #2 on the tele or whatever to hear something in Spanish. What the frig is next? #3-10 for everything down to Latvanian? O.K. rant yes. Sorry.
If this poem was inspired or written by any "hate" group I doubt it. If it was then it works. Some people just don't get it until it hits them directly. That's another thing my rant can go on. "Hate". Hate group. If you are proud of your European heritage. You want a White Miss America pageant? You want a white entertaintment award? There is a BET right? You take pride in your own race and you are white. Honey, automatically ya get called David Duke.
I hate not a soul in this world. Not even the dude set me up on dope, but I HATE that I can't stand proud for my race without being called a racist. That's just how it goes down. No matter it be in detox/rehab or on the job. Everybody else can belong to the new Black Panther Party, True Israelites, but when I stand up, and say my German ancestor was a fighter pilot in the war. Ewwwww, un-uh. She better not check the box #1 for Caucasian. For that she'll get into a Community College. Sorry, sister you're white. Pay up full tuition. Pay off those loans for the rest of your life.
Meanwhile, let's thank a WWII Vet, A Korean Vet, A Vietnam Vet (we know someone), these kids over in Iraq right now, and far away places we can't pronounce the names of, to all those who have fought and still do to keep us safe and free, and to ensure every immigrant gets into America and treated like the King and Queens they are. Amen.
