Here is something I came across a little while ago. It gave me a chuckle so I thought I'd share it.
I wrote this in 1974 for my then boyfriend later my husband.

You told me I was cute, lovable and sweet.
All those things you told me, swept me off my feet.
But next time I'll know better, on that you can depend.
'Cause all those things you told me, you also told my friend.

This was published in the Toronto Sun in April of '74. It was entitled....
                                      Gary, you're DUMPED.
At that time he worked at the GM Van plant in Scarborough.... all, and I mean ALL the guys in the plant read the Sun back then...
We got back together (obviously...lol) but he never cheated again  lmao!
Peace........Sue

Hi Sha

What did he say? Hmmm.... that was a "blow" to him for sure. At that time he'd never been a "dumpee" he was a "dumper". I was a brave 17 yr. old (dare I say tart) who waited at the gate for him to exit the plant. All his buddies were congratulating me and he was red faced and pissed something bad. He marched up to me, intending to have the last word and I, in my glory said, "No words needed creep, the boys and I are going out!"
He was a great boyfriend for a long, long time after that!
Personally, I think he was too afraid to do anything like that again. Afraid I'd take an ad out in the paper or something...ha ha ha

Yep.
We had 6 yrs. of bliss after that episode.
Well, almost bliss. He died in October 1980.
He's waiting somewhere over the rainbow for me and that's cool with me.

You're right though you did have those 6 years...and if I believe nothing else I believe there is a rainbow out there waiting on us all..and there are great things over it.

Suzie,  I thought the poem was adorable and a great way to get him back for cheating.
Glad he realized that you were worth fighting for, and you had some wonderful time together.
Not enough time, but some time.
I think when we love someone and lose them, there is  never enough time, EVER!!!!!
I am sorry that you guys didnt get more time together,  Love Karen
