Many or some of us here at HofH have heard about and are following the Canadian Heroin Trials Project called 'The Naomi Project..aka..The North American Opiate Medication Initiative,' is a two year study where 2 groups of addicts will be followed in one of 3 Canadian cities, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouover. One group will be put on methadone the other group on heroin..with up to 3 times a sday option of shooting it or however they choose to ingest the heroin.
Naturally this is a 'shit hit the fan' kinda project..raising all kinds of protests from Canadians and Americans alike. Here is some information for those interested. A video is available for viewing too.
The NAOMI clinical trial is now enrolling volunteers at its site in Vancouver, British Columbia. Montreal (Quebec) and Toronto (Ontario) sites will begin enrolling later this year. Please watch this web site for further details.

I personally think any decriminalization of illegal drugs would go a long way in addressing the fallout dope leaves in its wake.
