I have been clean for over a year now. but everytime i drink my knee joint seize up like im in withdrawal. it hurts like a bitch. Actually its not just when I drink?it happens with random consistency. Hmm that’s an oxymoron, innit? But?like I can be at work all day and then suddenly it’ll kick in. I used to think it was the cold, but its sunny and warm-ish now. SO it can’t be winter. Is it poss that my body induced withdrawal because I used so much smack my brain’s not able to release endorphins on it’s own in general?
Either that I have arthritis or gout or something. Sick. Help. Doctors anyone?

Hi Ailimental,  I wish i have some answer for you but i dont.
I know that sometimes after long time  opiate use some brains never produce endorphins right afterwards, It all depends.
Do you have Hepc from using H??
Maybe it has something to do with the alchohol and the liver.
This is all a guess.
You should be complelety open with a doctor and see what they say.
I hope you can get to the bottom of it, it sounds like your in alot of pain...

Hi Ali,
How much do you drink? Alcohol can have a toxic effect on nerve tissue and is a common cause for neropathy. Do you get any other sensations like burning or tingling in your feet? Or pins and needles feeling? There is a disorder called alcohol neropathy which in most cases is reversable when one ceases to quit drinking.

If you are an alcoholic it may be caused from malnutrion. Alcohol interferes with the absorbtion of B12 and other B vitamins. Lack of vitamin D now considered to cause muscle cramps and spasms as well.

I guess I would say look at your diet and your alcohol consumption and that should give you a good indication of your muscle troubles.

Hope this helps...

Hey, Ali,

I'm not sure, unfortunately, as I'm not a doctor. Do you have a doc you could go see? I'd suspect, just off-hand, that it may be that you're dehydrated. Dehydration causes muscle spasms and pain. But again, I ain't a doc, so who knows?

I hope you feel better soon!

Take a look at this article:

2nd article:

And to answer your question about endorphins and an addicts ability to produce them again..it depends on the length of addiction etc..but yes..it can happen that we don't produce enough or any at all.
