Ya made some good points.I used a high carbon steel file to make my striker.I will get some photos and get back with you ,,yes  yes I can use a bow drill and just two sticks to sart a fire but I prefer flint ant steel with homemade char cloth...I can start a fire rain or shine with that..any day any time...I can even light my smokes...lol...the rest is just incase..drop your lighter in a puddle and see if it still works. strike anywhere matches are a good start but in time you will need something tried and true...J.M.O
