Hello I am new to this site and I wanted to introduce myself.  I have been with Wal-Mart for 13 years and I am in the photo lab.  I have also been in jewelry, fabrics and crafts and domestics.  From what  I hear we should be having our inventory in September.  I enjoy my job and I like doing what I can to make my customers happy. I have customers that won't leave film unless I am there.  I still think Wal-Mart is a good company to work for but I think a lot has changed since Mr. Sam passed away and not always for the better.

Thanks for the intro, cvangriff.
I've been with W*M for 16 years, and it's still the best job I've ever had  (and there have been A LOT).
The switch to pay grades, and then the switch to pay caps, severely tried my loyalty.  However, at this point, it would be tough to switch employers, and make this much $.
My newest raise takes effect on the 26th of June.  Because the starting pay was raised at my store, I still have 20 cents to go before I am capped.  I thought I would only get 20 cents this time.  My asst mgr said he saw me getting exceeds on my next eval, and I told him 20 cents is all I can get anyway.  So much for incentive!

Yes Mad a lot of us think that way too.  My department manager is wanting to quit and go somewhere else but he would take a big pay cut and he can't afford to take a paycut.  We have a new assistant manager in our area and I think he is going to work out really well.  If he sees you are really busy he will come and help out for a while.  I have even seen him helping with freight.  We will be getting a new store manager soon so hopefully things will be getting  better.

Hello cvangriff and Welcome!

I just celebrated my 10th year at WM. I am in GM Directs and love it. I started as an unloader, then ICS, then Directs, back to unloader, then back to ICS and then finally back in Directs.

mreighties :)
