Our D 82 dept mgr told me that she will no longer have As Seen on TV items.  Our store mgr told her to give the items to whatever dept they would normally be in; no exceptions.
I have no flex space, and no risers. I was given two items, which I made room for, in the cat litter.  I hope in the future, I get feature quantities.  I'm not sure they'll sell real well otherwise.  I think it's a good idea to put these items in the the depts they "belong" to.  Our previous ASOTV area was a counter next to register 19, which is rarely open.  And if it was open, it was hard to shop the aisle, anyway.
D 82 will also no longer have batteries.  I think that's good because it's a hassle to do price changes.  The way it is now, D 82's batteries have different upc's than Electronics' or Photo Labs' does--but they LOOK identical.  Makes it hard to do accurate counts when you do price changes.  And of course, they get mixed up all the time.  Imagine having to check the upc on EVERY battery pack when you change prices?!
Not me!

I'm wondering how much stuff I'm going to get from D 82. right now I have 2 items, that I was able to work in on the shelf.  I have 1, 3 foot end with shelves, 1, 3 foot end without shelves, 3, 4 foot ends, and a 6 foot end that can only have stuff stacked on it.  I have ZERO flex space.
I have 2 sidekicks, which are both full.  I have about 6 sidekick features that I can't put out.
I guess there's no point in worrying about it now!

Just curious, we haven't heard anything about this at our store yet. What department is going to be handling the batteries?

When is this supposed to happen?

At our store, Dept 82 and photo don't have any batteries that are the same, photo has all the lithium (except for the AA 2 packs), and all the rechargeables. Also the A-23 (look like miniature AA's). Pretty much the rest of them are department 82.  But, they still get mixed. Most of the time I am walking the 4-corners of the store looking for my batteries (photo) because they always put them with Department 82' s stuff.

I'll check into it and let you all know.  The side counter that used to be mostly ASOTV has been changed over to other kinds of stuff.
I assume the batteries will go to D5 and 6.  That should reduce some of the confusion.
