Hopefully they will let you keep your overtime. We are getting ready for inventory and some of the merchandise managers are getting overtime but not too many others are. Our inventory is August 20th. My son also goes back to school on that day. Wow the summer sure is going by quickly. |

jason--What a raw deal. Is your store one of the ones that is supposed to get help from vendors, on setting the dog and cat mods? Mine is. Last time I heard about it from my asst mgr, our store had not been contacted as to when they would be there. My asst is on vacation, and when he gets back, he goes to 3rd shift, so he really doesn't give a hoot. I've been out of town for 4 days, and in 9 days I'll be in the BAHAMAS for 4 more days, so I'm not going to worry too much about it, either. Do you have to set up all your fastrack with the labels, ahead of time? Mad |

Today I was hoping to reset the cat litter, but should have known that after being gone for 4 days, and also because it was "Freight Day Wednesday," I didn't get farther than printing the mod and the labels. My good 3rd shift stocker works tonight, so maybe I'll be able to spend most of the day doing the cat litter mod. Mad |

I did set the cat litter today. My stocker didn't get as much done as I had hoped, and then today I didn't get as much done as I think he had hoped for, either. The vendor called today and made an appt to help me with the dry dog food mod--August 15th. I hope we end up doing it ourselves, sooner. My asst mgr is about to switch to 3rd shift, and is currently on vacation, and he doesn't give a **** when it gets done.

My vendors for Cosmetics are supposed to come and set the makeup mods... but this time which was a major reset for most of them... only two vendors came in to do them. I had to do them all my self.. which isn't really a problem but it so time consuming. I was told by a couple of the vendors that they would be coming at the end of July to do the reset.. when my Mods were due to be complete weeks before. Instead of getting myself on the managers recap report for late mods.. I just did them. The vendors that came were quite surprised to see that they were done... and done correctly. At this point I think I rather do them myself.. at least they get done right. BTW..... I just lost my staff... I have no closer and my day gal is cutting down to 20 hrs. a week... she got a better job. :( |

jason-- I feel for you ( I don't know how the italics got in here!). It sounds like you could use a little less stress in your life. Do what you can, without wearing yourself out. I know that's a lot harder than it sounds. I have quit worrying so much about getting some things done, because mgmt puts such a low priority on my dept too. The Gemini's are poorly managed, which makes it hard to do a picklist or any other BAM screen stuff. I have asked over and over, if they could be assigned to specific areas, and they tell us we should be able to manage them ourselves. Well, most every day, when they give them out at 8am, I don't get one. Mad |

At Friday's morning meeting, we were told that if all Gemini's were not turned in to UPC, Monday morning, they would be turned off. Monday at 7 am, there were 6 in there. We have 19, not including the ones that are permanently assigned to Claims, etc. At the meeting, they told us to turn them all in, and that we could get them at 2 pm. I reset the dry dog food, and I didn't bother trying to get a Gemini. At lunch, the Accounting assoc told us that she has to disconnect each Gemini, and that if someone signs back on, after she disconnects them, there's nothing to keep them from signing on again. So that would not work very well at all. I guess I will have to create a proposal to mgmt, about us sharing them and assigning them to specific depts. There's no reason why someone has to have one all day, every day. I know they're afraid they won't be able to get one. If each one is assigned to one or 2 people, then it makes it easy to take it away from someone who is not supposed to be using it. I'll let you know how it goes... Mad |

I was able to use and return a Gemini TWICE yesterday. When I left, there were 6 Gemini's and 14 printers in the UPC office. I'll have to see what's there this morning. Yesterday at the morning meeting, the Invoicing Assoc (who manages the Gemini's) said that mgmt and ICS team members are also part of the problem, so they need to straighten up too. That was refreshing! I got half of the dry cat food set yesterday, after finishing the dry dog food. Since I leave for a 4 day trip to the Bahamas on Friday morning, I'm trying to get a lot done. I like the way the dry dog food was set, and the dry cat food looks better too. They must've found someone who knows what they're doing! Mad |
