Calling them Backroom Inventory Associates. Does anyone have a copy of the "OSS Inventory Mangagement Initiative" plan that gives you a summary and overview of this change? Thanks |

So far everything I heard at work is exactly what FRITZ says in Message # 2. Except we heard there with also be a 10pm to 7am shift. ICS & ICS Lead pay rate will stay the same and unloaders pay rate will incease by one pay grade (making them equal). They will be called Backroom Inventory/Sales Foor Inventory Associates. Also, softlines processing job being deleted but didn't hear anything on that yet. Has anyone heard about this change? |

We had a good visit, so even though my bins weren't labelled, and I have five mods undone, I escaped unscathed; again! Mad |

As far as processor the job is still there. Supposed to be two of them. We will see. I can practically guarntee it will be the same with softlines as it always has been with the ICS team (at least in my store) they NEVER worked our bins either putting it out or binning it. So I don't buy the crap that they say DM's won't be in the backroom. |

Same goes on in my store with softlines & ics. I was told that the O/N processors Job has been elimated like the unloaders. Make you wonder who is going to process the Softlines Hanging Freight? |

we still have unloaders and just hired an overnight processor. Our ICS team still works no later than 800pm. Wonder when they are going to break the news to them? lol. I am doing the overnight DSD position, and so far I like it, but I have NO idea what my duties are going to be when this new program kicks into place. I hope it will have exciting things attached to it, lol, J/k!!! I know I will always be checking in the overnight "business partners" lol, all four of them. Other than that, I have been doing alot of sweeping, cleaning, packaging empty break pack boxes, scraping paint off the floor, stocking dairy, infants, foods, meats, whatever. I basically 'pick up' after the morning, evening and midnight shifts. I don't care, I get paid well by the hour......................just sometimes the night seems like it will NEVER end!!! lol. |

I'm wondering how the four or five associates on the new shift are going to unload the truck, pull the automate pick list, and fill the shelves.......hmmmmm....... |

I saw a friend who is in the mgmt training program last week, and she said this new system will be awesome. I hope she's right and not just brainwashed. Although sometimes my bins drive me nuts, it's very hard to imagine not being responsible for working them every day. Tweety--Sorry to hear you have to create things to do, but clearly they're things that need to be done. Not sure I could handle being that creative. Many years ago I recognized that after Christmas, many dept mgrs feel lost. Once the craziness has died down, if there are no mods to do yet, we don't feel the insane pressure that we've gotten used to. We complain about having too much to do, but when it lets up, we get bored! (Some of us anyway.) Mad |

I don't think that this program is going to work in my store..... I have said it so many times before... we can't even hire enough cashiers...let alone another team for the backroom. The unloaders are not going to like to the truck then working bins and pulling freight. Sure this sounds like a good program, but its not feasible in all areas. When will the idiots in HO see that ????? My bins are a mess. I think about 5-10% of my stock isn't labeled and my WACO boxes are overstuffed that it will be tough to scan every day. What a total waste of time and effort! |

Since the MM decided to have my freight moved over to grocery, it has gotten really bad. I used to have maybe 5 pallets, plus my bins. Now I have about 9, and 2/3 of what's on them is features. I have no stackbases or 4 ways. It's hard to make 50# bagged dog food look good on an end that has shelves. One of my Ol Roy's has changed from 22# to 20#. To mark that date in history, they have sent me 100 bags of the smaller size. In the next 3 weeks, I'll get 150 more. We can't put out the 20# until the 22# is sold. Maybe today I'll put it all up in the steel! Mad |

We've been running the new backroom program 100% for about 6 weeks now. Have not hired for the new positions yet - we're making it work with the ones we have for now. I will tell you that it is amazing. I was speculative at first but somebody has hit a homerun with this one. I've seen a lot of retarded programs in my 8 years - this one is absolutely the best of all. Look fwd to it - it's awesome! |

wow.. you are the first person who actually likes this new program... I have heard so much negative stuff on it... I doubt it will work in my store. So... tell us... why is this program working for your store ? Do you have a lot of inventory that the bins are overloaded and have a ton of mixed freight pallets ??? |

Rubberband Man, Do they work the apparel stuff too? Or do they just toss it in a cart and push it out for the DM's to work? In the past the so called ICS team we had (never have had it in place long at my store) never did touch apparel. If they had something for apparel they just pushed it to the side or threw it in carts for the DM's. |

LilA--Every store sure is different! At my store, 2 of the ICS assoc's are buddies with Apparel, so they're over there all day, unless mgmt tells them to go somewhere else. It seems like most of our ICS folks work where they want to, anyway. I have a tremendous amount of features in my back room. Because my Pet dept is facing grocery action alley, I have no stackbases there. Part of my dept is between HBA and L&G, and I am only allowed one 4 way there, during Christmas. Ol' Roy complete nutrition for dogs is converting from a 22# bag, to a 20# bag, with new graphics on it. They are so excited about, they have shipped me two extra palets, and I have another 2 (100 bags total) on the way. I already had more than a pallet of it on the floor. So, no stackbases, and a smaller size at the same price. I have to sell out of the old bags first, so I will have wall to wall dogfood for awhile. Mad |
