Our mgt team is making threats about us having to help out with this, but I haven't been told I'll be a part of it.  Although my dept is a GM one, it is also consumable (Pets), so I tend to be left to do what I need to do, most of the time.

I donr see why they have to change Domestics so much anyway....just cause Martha Stewart had a new color come out of her rear, doesnt mean we should change a hundred mods to get that color in the sheets, pillow cases, comforters and etc.

mreighties :)

You have teams that change mods???!!!  At our store, except of Toys, it's every man for themselves...apparell, HBA, Hardware, Sporting goods to name a few,  do theirs without help...shoes still isn't done (and it is a confused mess)and jewelry does their own as well.  LS

Yes there are a few who still have to do their own mods, but there are a few who cry and get help.
When Toys mods came down, there wasn't a dept. manager so all dept. managers had to do them in two days... then the second shift and ICS worked the pallets.
All dept. managers went to softlines to help with their mods... mostly ladieswear we being redone... and a couple of "late" mods in infants.
Now with the "new" changes in domestics... we were told yesterday that starting next week we either volunteer to do this overnights or we do what was done in Toys... leave your dept. and work in domestics.  Believe me I am NOT happy about it.  My dept. is suffering because I have no associates and I have to do it all on my own.  NOT one of the dept. managers came over to my dept to offer any kind of help.  I had two mods that would of been late on Monday, but I was able to get them done.
I am surely offended that no one offered any help... but I am not surprised as I am apparently not liked very much by the other dept. managers... why thats another story.
So, will I help in domestics.. probably if I am told I must, but I will be working extremely slow and be more of a hinderness than help.

There hasn't been much said about setting those mods, except to the folks who will be doing them, so I don't really know what's happening there.  My guess is that the folks who aren't doing the mods, will be doing the BAM screens.

well we are underway... and the so called team to set the mods so far are way behind.   They were to set the mods so when we got in at 5am.. all we had to do was stock the shelves.
Today we did mods.  No truck tonight so we are hoping that they get a lot done tonight and work some of the domestics pallets.
I hate doing domestics.

Some of us were asked to come in at 5 on Thursday.  We were supposed to help finish mods, stock whatever we could, and help check to make sure the mods were set right.  Some folks worked on getting the signing done.  The MM was due to come in sometime that day.
Friday, a number of people were directed to Domestics, in order to work the freight, and try to find the new stuff that wasn't out yet.  Word was, that the MM was not happy with the outs--because they had pallets of freight that hadn't been worked yet--because they had been setting the mods, DUH.
I don't know what the outcome was.

The crew on overnights set the mods, put the paper backing up where it was supposed to go, put up the new graphics... The crew on days filled the shelves... in three days we must have done at least 50-60 pallets of NEW mods stuff... I think the coming week we will be tackling the overstock pallets in the steel.  It was a lot of work, but the new merchandise is really nice, great quality and just a little more pricey.... but I think our customers are going to like it.  The Better Homes and Gardens stuff is super nice.

Our MM was NOT happy with the job we did.  Not sure of the details*.

We had to set ours while we were without power. Oh what fun that was.
