This is the agency that checks to make sure that everything in your store is priced correctly, and that your scales are accurate.
Two visits ago, they found too many wrong prices, and several scales that were not accurate.
Since then, mgmt has had us scan our depts, in fits and starts; and has also fixed the scales.
During our last visit, we were told that Household Chemicals has to be labeled with unit of measure labels (which show the price per ounce of items that are sold by weight).  I had thought long ago that a lot of my pet items should be labeled that way.  The day that Chemicals got labeled, the Dairy mgr (who used to manage a grocery store) told me that Pets and HBA would have to be re-labeled too.
I checked with the co-mgr, and asked him when it would have to be done.  The answer?  In 2 days.  Gosh, I wonder when they were planning to tell us, I thought to myself.
Before I started labeling, my asst mgr said that the co-mgr wasn't sure after all, and that I should wait until they find out.  The Dairy mgr is hoping they get in trouble, because mgmt got mad at him for asking about the UOM labels in Chemicals.  What a jerk, he's trying to make us comply with the government!
So, now it's 3 days later, and no mention of it.  Maybe I'll just start using them for everything in my dept, as I reset my new mods.  I think it would be a service to the customers, because that way they can buy more wisely.
I actually buy an item that is more per ounce than the smaller size is, because I use up the smaller size so fast, I have to buy it a lot more often. Wow, what laziness.
