Morning DixieRebs!
It has finally stopped raining! Yea!
I am going to finish cleaning out my closets today and giving away what I don't wear. I am even going to tackle Lonnie's things even though he is home. It's going to be an interesting day for sure!

Mornin' y'all....

Not a good day so far...the transmission on my truck went out on the way to work this morning.....uggghhh.  Still waiting on Ford's analysis, and what they're going to cover and what I'll have to pay.

Morning Rockn, Rusty.  Rusty, your transmission?  I assume this is a newer
truck.

2004 F-150 with 75,000 miles on it......I'm not a happy camper at the moment about it.

Rusty, that is waaaaay to early to be losing a transmission.  But then
you already know this.

Yeah, I could understand it if I was towing stuff - my brother goes through transmissions on his trucks, but he's towing an 8,000 pound trailer on a regular basis.

I've never towed anything with it once, and only carried a full load in it one time, when I moved some furniture from NC to FL.

I'm not pleased - I'm waiting to hear from my service guy at the Ford dealer; can't WAIT for that conversation.....

Not good.....the transmission is totally shredded, not even worth rebuilding - it has to be replaced.

Anyone want to make a guess on how much that's going to set me back?

well over $5k?

that's how much my kia was gonna cost and i figure your truck probably would cost even MORE to fix cuz it's bigger and stronger...

man, i had to go out and run errands; get the mail, pick up prints to bid a job, get groceries... and in the middle of costco, all of a sudden, i felt ROTTEN. i mean, it just ROLLED over me. when i finally got out and got into the car i just sat there. i couldn't even move. my head throbbed and i ached all over. i thought about even going to sleep for awhile but i had stuff that would thaw if i did that.  i just took some aspirin and my head is still killing me. i think i'm going to go lay down for awhile, at least till this passes...

Well, you managed to make me feel a little better Kelly, lol - $3K is my total....which is bad enough, but I'm feeling better that it's not $5K+...

OMG I can't believe your transmission went out.  Is your truck still under warranty?

Nope - powertrain warranty is for 60,000 miles.  They knocked off a few hundred dollars as a 'good customer' discount, but that was it.

The new tranny has a 100,000 mile warranty on it at least.

Fortunately, today and tomorrow are Kris' days off, so I can just use his car, since he had no plans to go anywhere - but it's still a pain.

And I just sent off the check to pay the property taxes on the house, so the reserves are a bit depleted - peanut butter sandwiches for a bit, I guess, lol.

Well you know you'll be driving that truck for a while.
