I am such a movie buff, I was just wondering which movies were the KivaKrew's favorites. I love so many, but I guess my top five would be: 1. Out of Africa 2. When Harry Met Sally 3. Romancing the Stone 4. Casablanca 5. Dances with Wolves |

august leo: what a coincidence! My Big Fat Greek Wedding takes place here in Chicago but anyone who lives here knows that it wasn't filmed here. I think it was filmed in Toronto. Anyway, I live near Truman College, where Toula went in the film. The building she's seen exiting is not Truman College...lol Even though the sign says it is. What church did they shoot the wedding scene in? Just curious. |

That's the movies for you, amychicago......I do believe it was filmed in Toronto. I have not yet seen the movie, if you can believe it, because they first put it out in limited release in the States, then released it to more theatres in the US. It's taken awhile to get here in Winnipeg, Canada, which I find extremely ironic. They also had a live theatre production run here, before there was ever a thought that it would become a movie. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to see it. We have a few beautiful Greek churches here in Winnipeg but I can't tell you which one the actual marriage took place in. I'll do some research on that aspect and in the meantime, I can actually now go to a movie, in Winnipeg, which is based on a woman, from Winnipeg I will get back to you as soon as I can. augustleo. . |

I never saw the stage show, augustleo but I've heard of it. Both Nia Vardalos (Toula) and Ian Gomez (Ian's friend) were in Second City but I don't know if they were in the Chicago Company or the Toronto Company. |

oldhippywoman: I really enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany's, as well. I thought Audrey Hepburn did a fine job but she was good in most of her movies. |

I haven't read the entire thread, but has anyone mentioned: Living Out Loud Grand Canyon Soul Food Marty Working Girl Doc Hollywood The Mirror Has Two Faces Remember The Titans The Five Heartbeats Regarding Henry Defending Your Life Crossing Delancey The Commitments Smoke those are all films I can see over and over again... And, Angelhart -- I was so surprised to see West Side Story and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers on your list. Those two movies have a special place in my heart. WSS is my #1 favorite movie. I saw it as a teenager and then went on to continue to see it about 20 times. Seven Brides For Seven Brothers is either the 1st or 2nd film that I saw in the theatres. I think I was about 4 years old. Also when I was 4, I saw another film that became my favorite Disney film: Lady & The Tramp. Do you all find that your favorite Disney film is the first Disney film you saw??? Diane |

Saw a "sleeper" video last night that you might want to try. Very engrossing story -- The Legend of 1900 (1900 being a person). |
