Hey again, Texoma,
I'm afraid I'm going to end up getting in too deep here...but I'll try to answer you as best I can...
In Judiasm, behavior is everything. What we may be thinking or feeling, from one moment to the next, is not as important as how we act, every day. Let me put it this way: G-d laid out specific codes of behavior when he handed down the Ten Commandments, which included not taking His name in vain. The Commandments are not negotiable, and they are simply expected of us, whether we feel like it or not. So, yes, I guess that probably sounds hollow from a worship perspective. But I have to assume that it pleases G-d. Consider this thought: Hopefully you have refrained from commiting the act of, oh, say, adultery. The reason you don't do it, I have to assume, is not because it comes from your heart (I never met a man who didn't at least have one fantasy or two of straying!), but because you were commanded not to do it. For many Jews, but not all, writing out the name of G-d and risking its becoming violated, is against a commandment, so they don't do it.
Hope that answers your question...
