This thread is for making signature files or siggys. We are going to come up with a clip to be the start and everyone is to do their own thing. You don't need PSP....it's whatever program you play with. You can add backgrounds or maybe a picture frame or just your name with a fancy font....you can make it glimmer, sparkle or flash....whatever floats your boat. This is not a competition...this is a place to practice and play. DO NOT THINK THAT BECAUSE ONE PERSONS SIGGY IS ANIMATED THAT YOU NEED TO ANIMATE YOURS. This is about using your own skills and creativity to make something that represents you or the group. Also don't be overly self-conscience...we are all at different skill levels and it is more about playing the game and not about winning. The other benefit to the thread will be that it is a great forum to ask questions. If you see a techinque or style you like don't be afraid to ask how someone did it. Lastly, if you ask anyone who plays with signature files they will tell you it's an addiction.....so be forewarned, you will end up staying up late banging your head on the desk trying to find just the right font, or piece of clipart to make the perfect siggy! We'll just have to send you to the Betty Font Rehab Clinic for treatment to fix that overflowing hard drive....just remember to have fun! |

Peaceful -- Ohhhh, yes, just what I needed, another tutorial !! It looks like you found a good link. I'll print it out and maybe try it over the weekend. It took me long enough to try the Ommadawn Slats tutorial. I have to be in the mood. The first sig -- the one with the purple fairy -- I just followed the slats tutorial from this link and used Toadie's Ommadawn and Xenofex 1.0's Baked Earth. On the text, I used Baked Earth and Eye Candy's Glass. On the Siamese Cats, I'm not exactly sure but I think I also used Baked Earth and Ommadawn, mainly because I like that effect. To get the effect where the background cats look like they're lighter than the main cat graphic, I just lightened the background on that particular layer (using that sliding arrow thingee). To get the glittery noise effect, I used DSB Flux's version of Noise (it's done using 3 layers and you apply a different version of the noise to each layer -- but you also need Animation Shop). The circle around the cats is from Filters Unlimited. Those plug-ins are fantastic, aren't they? I had so many plug-ins loaded into Paint Shop Pro, I finally just put some into a temp folder because I can't deal with all of them at the same time. I want to get to know a few at a time so I'm only keeping the ones I use regularly. My favorites so far are: Eye Candy, Filters Unlimited, Xenofex 1.0, DSB Flux, Toadies and Visman (also called VM). But I know there are others that I'm forgetting ... I'm at work, so I'm doing this from memory. There's a new one I just downloaded a few days ago -- I think it's called Unplugged. It looks promising. Check out the Good Morning thread. I have another slat tag. |

Peaceful -- I never got a chance to copy the graphic you put on here the other day, and now with all the problems, all I see is a box with an X. So when we're back to normal, I'll copy him. In the meantime, I wasn't sure if you ever joined Paint Shop Stop. They're an MSN group and they have a LOT of resources, plus this separate website. |

If anyone is still up to playing with graphics, here are some to tackle. I tried to put in something different for different tastes. The only problem I'm having is that in order to get a transparent background (and I sure hope that that's what you'll get when you bring these up on your screen), I have to sacrifice some sharpness of color. If anyone wants a sharper image, just let me know and I'll post it, but it will have a white background. |

I still like this idea but don't have time these days to play. I'll jump back in when I can. |

I'm still not sure if you're going to get a transparent background on those graphics, so here are some other versions of them to work with, if you choose.... some may be transparent and one might be white ... I just can't figure out how to get it to be the way I want it to be!!! It's so frustrating. I've attached the files, rather than posting them. |
