Morning LadiesI have to agree with Robert, Tigs re not making progress without  regular attendance at the physio.  Whilst I was away I really did think I was doing the exercises correctly, then I came home and I am exactly where I was when I left. despite all the hot  pools and useing the skipping rope to pull my leg up and to straighten it up  To-day, the second time  at physio he "pulled" my leg from the heel and I could straighten it a lot more.  (Oh here I go again me and my knee) sorry.

I can remember Auntie Mollie's leg with the scar, and sometimes if she had overdone it it would weep.  As a child her walking a bit stiff and the scar I took for just being her, but I now realize that it must at times have been very painful for her.  I do so hope Roberts leg completly recovers and there won't be much of a scar.  Being a man he will be wearing trousers so  hopefully it won't show.  Auntie Mollie being in the age where most ladies wore skirts and dresses must have been difficult for her.  There also wasn't any physio in those days was there?

I think it is awful that you have to fight to claim what is rightfully his too.  Don't even go there with all the forms that have to be filled up, I must be honest and say that for most of the forms I get Bill to make them out and then I just sign them, although this time with A.c.C. it hasn't been too bad.   Anyway more prayers must be kept up, I can see that.

Oh you are taking this keeping fit seriously Tigs, half an hour on the treadmill, you and Red will be sylth like, I am quite envious.  I will have to put a treadmill on my next Christmas list.

So thats it then, a treadmill and follow Sweets advice on the right  healthy food-I suppose I could follow Sweets advice now then I would be fitt when I am able to do the treadmill.  Its your winter so being able to go for a walk and not get cold or wet sounds right to me. You could also watch your favorite programme on T.V. or listen to a play on the radio.

I did not have a good night last night, just kept waking up and could not get comfortable so hope to-night is better.  It is also quite hot at night and that does not help.

I got a couple of punnets of really lovely strawberries to-day, when I came out of the physio's room, there in reception was a man with a big box of strawberries and he was selling them there, it appears that he grows them and takes them round all the business places there to sell, so I was there at just the right time.  No need to say that they all went very quickly, and they were delicious.
You will be pleased to hear Sweet that I did not put great dollops of cream on mine-Bill and Jasmine did

Did I tell you that Lucy hurt her tail whilst we were away, we took her and Tashia with us on holiday.  I am sure it was that  awfull Siamese cat that came round and picked a fight as it wanted to come in and eat and our two would not let it.  I just heard the growling and noise and by the time I did get there the Siamese was walking off.  Anyway, her tail is still sore, but she isn't going to lose it.  The vet in Taupo said that cats do lose their tails but with the medicine and doing everything we were told it looks like Lucy will keep her fluffy tail thank goodness.

Oh I seem to be just rambling on here, sorry, will wish you all a very good day, and hope something really good happens to you all to day

Morning ladies...I love your 'ramblings' Ann isn't that what our conversations would be like if we were sat having morning coffee together? Well it would have to be tea for me as I don't like coffee but you know what I mean.
Poor Lucy and her sore tail, I'm pleased to hear it will be ok. Amazing though how much damage a cat can inflict on another in a few moments isn't it. I'm always seperating our two as they really don't get on well together but sometimes they must have a good old scrap when were not here to make them behave because I find little bumps and scratches when I pet them.

I tried yesterday and today to add a couple of photos of Robert's leg but it won't let me it keeps saying there is an error so I will try and add them to an album when I've posted this message.

Yesterday a guy called with an ariel photo of our house and said it was £35 framed. It looked very nice and I would have paid up on the spot but knew Wac would moan about the cost. Normally I don't bother what Wac says but this is something I couldn't keep quiet about, not like a new dress that I tell him I have had ages! Anyway I asked the guy to come back at 7pm and speak to Wac as he would be more interested than I was so he did. Wac managed to grind him down to £20!! I was gobsmacked! I know Wac is very good at business deals but that deal was amazing! lol The photo was taken last November so it has all the extension, conservatory, the motorhome and my car which I usually keep in the garage. I might try to scan it in and show you all.

Yes Ann I am very serious about getting fit and losing weight. When I was approaching 40 I was determined not to be fat and forty but.... and now this year I shall be 48 omg!!! me 48??? anyway before I get to 50 I want to weigh what I did before I had Robert which was about 9st13lb, that is my goal anyway. Also with all the problems I am having with my feet I thought what's the point of trying to get them sorted whilst they are having to carry extra weight around.
I started on a special eating plan 2 weeks before xmas and have only broken it for a couple of days at xmas and then the days I was away last week and after weighing myself this morning I have lost 18lb so far.

This week I have had 3 people who haven't seen me for a month go WOW! you can really tell your losing weight and it has felt soooo good! I'm a little sad for all my really nice clothes that I won't be able to wear for much longer but already I am buying a smaller size and I feel so much better in myself. It's a plan some people wouldn't agree with and it's something a year ago I first started thinking about and then dismissed as you are on very low calorie shakes and 4 litres of water so you are guaranteed to lose on average 4-5lbs a week but I have tried all the other slimming clubs and eating more healthy and restricting my intake but losses were too slow and I love my food too much to not be able to enjoy what I like for months and months and months with only an odd lb being lost here and there.
Already I have started to view food more differently and whilst I was on holiday I enjoyed a dessert but looked for the smallest slice of gateaux and only had a drizzle of cream whereas before I would have had the largest piece and let it swim in cream. lol
Anyway so far so good, I watched a colleague disappear before my eyes in the 6 weeks up to xmas and that was the incentive I needed to get me started.
Now I've 'fessed' up I'll keep you posted on my progress. Weigh in days are usually Sunday or Monday depending on when the pharmacist is working.

I'm not working till this evening but have a podiatry appointment this afternoon. Between now and then I shall watch an episode of Deal or No deal whilst I pound the treadmill.

Time for my first shake of the day and the first litre of fluid I have to drink this morning. Usually a few cups of nice warm water go down well.

See you later

Hello ladies,

Sorry I missed yesterday but I am a bit under the weather.  A head cold is  forming I am sure of it.  I am so nausious (sp) though, I don't know what's that is all about. Maybe it is intestional
I did try to sign in earlier in the morning, but it would not let me.  I actually was wondering if they had removed this page as it would not even load properly and no sign ins would load at all. Glad to see you this morning

Ann. I also love to read your ramblings, that's what makes us enjoy each others company so much, lol.  Talk about your knee all you want!!
Glad the kitty tail will stick around.   Cats are very bad at tearing each other up. Poor Sabbath would be riddled by Gabby I am sure.  LOL @ your kitties having catfights while your away, they know Mom would never tolerate such a thing.

I love it that you have farmers who bring their fresh grown produce to you Ann.  I miss my farmers markets over the winter months, as I do so enjoy freshly grown!!  I only buy strawberries while they are in season as i do not care for the packaged ripened fruits at all.

The pic of your home sounds wonderful.  Kudos to Wac for his bartering powers!!  I can't wait to see your pics.
I also think it is awful that people must fight for what is rightfully theirs, ie, Roberts claim.  Surely it will all work out well in the long run, but what a hassle.

KUDOS to you and your missing 18lbs!!!!!!!   Ann I have not purchaed my treadmill yet, I am actually thinking that a new one would serve us better, as I ampretty sure I can get at least 3 of us to use it regularly.  Bob is a little more awakened to the needs of his body after being diagnosed with the diabetes.  I got him some diabetic chocolate yesterday, he was so happy. He did not know they made it, lol  Like a small child with his first lollipop.

warm water??  I am not sure I can drink it warm. Does that serve a special purpose?

Tigs, I am also 48, and I can't believe how quickly our birthdays are rolling around these days.  I used to think 50 was old people,  now I am setting that at 70, lol.

It's still bitterly cold here, and a bit of snow left here and there also.   The centers were closed Tuesday but noone called to tell us that. Although it was my day off Ken and TIm went to work. After the first 45 minutes drive they discovered that Wallace was still clean from Monday, but they had to drive to Kenansville to check anyways. It's a dam shame noone could  be  bothered to let us know, rather then driving in trecherous conditions like that. We really are treated terribly .  If you want to feel bad about your job,  become a cleaner, you will be put in your place in no time.  After years of being sucha  valuable employee in the restaurants I am having a hard time feeling like low man on the totem pole.  Our supplies are abused, noonw bothers to communicate with us.  I am sure if they had a problem with our work they could be botherd to call immediantly.  No wonder people get depressed about things.  Our own company we work for never sent us a Christmas card,  but we had to view all the cards theat they had sent to our centers.  That really bothered me, that we were not important enough for a Christmas card, knowing that we are lining that mans pockets.  But whatever...!
I am almosttempted to go back to the restaurant, but summer will come soon, and I am just not wanting to deal with that heat anymore.

  Talk about rambling on,  lol.
Have a nice day ladies....

Sweet I hope your doing well today!

Wow ... really interesting posts.

Poor little kitty with her almost missing tail.

And kudos to you Tigs for those melting lbs.  Red, for your info, Tigs wants to get down to 139 lbs.  How tall are you Tigs?  I am on no diet (find this word so annoying!) and have shed more than 20 lbs. I had no idea I had got so chubby. Now my thin clothes fit me finally.  Being on my eating regime, is so effortless and I certainly dont count calories and I dont watch what I eat.

And as you Red, I too only eat what is in season.  Would never dream of eating strawberries in January (except if I lived in Ossieland or NZ ... lol).

I do 20 mins of treadmill at the gym every other day.  Then have a sauna afterwards.  This is what I will be doing in a couple of hours.  I have to attend a Memorial Service for my friend this afternoon.

Sorry cant comment on all the other interesting stuff ... gotta get going.   But hooray for Wac on a good negotiation.

Although Facebook is alright, it is certainly not the same as being here.  I find it so cozy and intimate.  I guess we are coming up to closing time very soon!!!

I did suggest another place to Tara ... its called Yuku (or something like that).  So will see if she researches it.

Evening ladies and another working week draws to a close. It's hard when it's my 4 night weeks, I much prefer the 2/3 night ones.

Aw Red I hope your not getting a cold.

Lol at Bob and the diabetic chocolate, just make sure he doesn't eat too much or he will get diarrhoea

What you mean you are also 48 Red? I'm not that old well not until the middle of May!  lol
Funny how we move the age targets as we get older, I remember at 20 thinking 40 was ancient! lol

I think that is disgusting how the centres didn't inform you that the cleaning wasn't required, you really should have some way of complaining about the awful things that happen to you. We have an excellent system of reporting incidents which is vital as we 'borrow' premises of an evening when the official owners leave at the end of their days.
Last night at the clinic I was at they are in the middle of painting and had moved us out of 'our' room we use as the reception and into another, but didn't say which room we could use or where the patient files were so we had wasted time locating them. Next we realised that the phone line wasn't working either so patients were unable to contact us. We completed an IR1 and an investigation is now under way.

Maybe you could find another job Red, I can understand you not wanting to go back to the heat of the kitchen especially in summer. Do you have any other skills/training/ qualifications apart from your excellent chef ones?

Hmmm Sweet are you trying to say all other postings have been uninteresting or just interesting as opposed to really interesting?  lol

You like a bit of revelation don't you?

Well done to you also with your weight loss. I don't think strictly it's true about you not watching what you eat, because you must be making a concerted effort in some way to have lost weight or you would still be eating the same as you were prior to losing the excess pounds and would therefore have not lost any weight.

Only 20 mins on the treadmill Sweet? You lightweight. I do at least 35 mins alternate days, but only because that's how long a downloaded episode of DoND is. lol  I love using the treadmill it's so easy and energising to use, I fast walk but don't run which is probably what you do ie run.

Red hurry and buy one as soon as you can but be careful what type you buy with regards to storage, ease of setting it up to use (mine has a pull out 'knob' that is attached to a metal shaft that slides into a hole on the far edge of the treadmill so you can store it like a trouser press. Also mine has a manual height adjuster so you can use it flat or on a choice of two inclines. The top speed is 10mph, I have only progressed to 6 which is quite a brisk walk but my boys would have liked one that goes faster as they can run at 10 quite easily. Show offs!! There are 6 programme settings, one manual so you can increase and decrease the speed your self or 5 auto which vary the speed automatically. It shows your speed, pulse, distance travelled and time used. It's a York make and would cost around £250 to buy, although Wac says our model has now been replaced by a similar one.

Wac's advice is you can buy a 10 mph one like ours or a 16mph. Ours is manually adjustable on the incline but you can get electronic adjusting ones. For the faster/ electronic one you can pay up to £1,000 for. Wac says the one like we have is probably the most economic to buy and fast enough for the average person unless they are very fit like our Mark who can run at 10mph quite easily.
When I was at physio they had a fantastic very heavy duty all singing all dancing Reebok one and I asked Wac about getting me one like that but it was HUGE! and so was the cost, £2,500!!! Needless to say I got the one I have and it does everything I need it to.
Hope that information is of some help to you.

Thank you ladies on your weight loss congrats.
I have had a wonderful week with lots of people noticing the slimmer me, in fact 4 people today!
The first and best was on Tuesday when one of the nurses I hadn't seen in a month stopped mid sentence whilst saying hello to me to say "you look different" whilst looking me up and down and then said "is it your hair? erm you look really well (emphasis on the 'really') is it your clothes"? At this point I laughed and said I would put her out of her misery and told her I'd lost weight, in fact a stone since I had last seen her. She looked relieved and said "That's it! You look really good" I was over the moon to say the least as it felt so good to have someone notice and comment. Since then there has been no stopping people.

Not sure I'm gonna tell you my height Sweet or you'll be working out my BMI and telling me what you think my target should be and I feel 9st 13lb is ideal for me. I was 9st 4lb when I got married but I know I won't get to and maintain that low a weight  lol

I hope Yvette checks out Yuku (whatever that is) and doesn't find it Yukki!

Finally on a serious note I hope the memorial service went as well as can be expected Sweet, so sad your friend had to die so young and miss so much of her family's lives but at least she is out of pain and at peace now.

Oh yeah...I managed to upload some photos of Robert's leg into my album on here, feel free to have a look.

It's now time for a last look online and then off up the wooden hill.
Night God Bless all.

Red the warm water is a bit easier on the stomach when it's cold outside as I was drinking cold/room temp water and finding it 'heavy' on my stomach if I drank only that.

Oh yeah, progress report on my feet...the podiatrist has fitted an adjustment to the underside of the insoles so that the arch is more supportive and has given me another pair to use along with the ones I have so I don't have to swop them between footwear as much and can use one pair in my slippers as well. She is having a word with the podiatrist who specialises in rheumatology to see if she will see and assess me even though my blood results say that isn't evident. The saga continues....

Defo off to bed now!
