Aran Campion leaves the sleepy fishing village of Dunrathway determined to make a life for herself far away from the stifling uncertainties of provincial Ireland . Far away London offers escape and opportunity and soon Aran has grasped both . With a full time job, her music and a Saturday stall at Camden market, her life is too full for love and marriage that once seemed to be her only destiny.
Until she meets a stuggling young musician called Ben. Despite differences of Race, religion, class and education, Ben and Aran seemed destined for dizzying success. Until Aran has to deal , alone, with the child who could spoil all her dreams.
The book is slow to start but I am glad i persevered with it, it was well worth it.
