A few explanations of site policies

Site Sweep

*Some members have expressed that they can't see the point of having non-contributors in the site, we have therefore decided to implement this policy as fairly as we can.
The agreement with the member sweep was that we email non-contributors who haven't contributed anything in 3 months to remind them that the site is here. If they don't reply to the email within 2 weeks, or post any messages, we reserve the right to cancel their membership. Members who have advised us of their reasons for not visiting the site as often as they would like will of course be kept on as members.  Turning up within the 3 months every so often to say "I'm still around" and then not contributing won't count.  We just want to maintain an active site.

In order to avoid members unjoining in haste, we've adopted a "4-week cooling off" period.  If a member unjoins, their request to re-join the site will be dealt with 4 weeks from the date they unjoined.  This will hopefully mean that members won't leave in haste - because we all miss you and feel hurt when you go!  Managers will also have the right to ban any members that they feel are a disruptive element to the site.

New Members & Re-Joiners

Feel free to suggest anyone to join the group on the boards for it to go to a site vote, but please understand if any members OR managers don't want the person you suggested on board, please don't throw a tantrum.  Anyone can email us privately if they don't want a suggested person on board, and we won't disclose their name (we ask that if you've suggested someone and they've been rejected that you respect this please).

Members that have had their membership cancelled can always email us to re-join, but we reserve the right to decide whether their application will be accepted before turning it over to the members.  If site managers feel a person who has re-applied could be a potentially disruptive influence, we will reject the application (we're not paid to run this site, it's something we're managing in our free time, just trying to provide a place for people to go when they're bored, and therefore we should have the right to decide who is best for our own site).

Paranoia

*A lot of very good members have expressed their fear that they will be banned for not posting.
Check your profile on the site - it tells you when you last posted a message, if you haven't posted anything for over 3 months, and if you couldn't tell us you'll be away... then check your email inbox, we could have sent you an email asking "where are you?"... only THEN are you likely to get banned overnight.

Quality vs Quantity

*Some members have complained that a lot of the postings on this site are poor quality.
One man's meat is another man's poison!  What amuses some, won't amuse others.  We ask that if you are unhappy with the content of the site - just choose not to respond. The same would apply to any post you might find offensive. Either ignore it, or if you feel strongly about it, e-mail the managers, and if appropriate it will be deleted.  If you are the author of a thread that has been deleted, please accept the fact that it was offensive to someone.

If we feel anyone is making a personal attack on another member, we will delete the thread. Please see the "Netiquette" page regarding this.

We do reserve the right to cancel a member's membership WITHOUT NOTICE should they repeatedly disregard the policies of the site.  Policies are in place here so that everyone can utilise the site for their leisure.  Whilst we would like to think that we would allow members to re-join following the management's decision to cancel their membership (under certain circumstances), we would ask that those members remember the original reason for cancellation of membership.  Decisions are made purely for the good of the site and we do try hard to manage the site in a fair manner.
