GREETINGS from FLORIDA-may you all prosper and have abundant life along with your loved ones.tonight I WRITE you this letter in the HOPE of obtaining your SUPPORT to bring back our SOUTHERN STATES CONFEDERATE FLAGS. despite what was brought on by JOHN McCAIN in SOUTH CAROLINA. many it seems that a mass BAD REPUTATION has been placed on this symbol of ACTUAL SOUTHERN PRIDE --- WE AS STATESMEN AND COUNTRYMEN OF THE SOUTH DO RESPECT OUR SPANGLED BANNER AS THE NATIONAL FLAG, BUT WE THE CITIZENS OF 16 SOUTHERN STATES, mind you if you disagree to the use of the REBEL FLAG in your communities because you feel it to be a symbol of hatred and Racism ,then you need peaceful clarification of correct information the flag represents men and woman confedederate patriots who though lost the CIVIL WAR defending their homeland from the UNION REPUBLIC were never the less ardent AMERICAN PATRIOTS giving their lives for their states and their way of life, history tells of negro regiments who also fought for the south and many died ,there were great confederate leaders whom attended WEST POINT and later fought with ROBERT E.LEE honorable men many of them.then subsequently later joined the UNION to FIGHT the INDIAN WARS and after the SPANISH -AMERICAN WAR, why I ASK do we as a people with all the knowledge and wisdom we have at our finger tips and books in our librarys DECEIVE OURSELVES.CONTINUESLY. with retoric and falsehoods I PLACE OUT A CHALLENGE THIS EVENING TO YOU TRUTHFUL CONFEDERATE PATRIOTS AND STATES MEN IF TRULY YOU LOVE the " DIXIE FLAG " and what it represents for your ANCESTORS then we MUST LOBBY for its institution in all 16 states .I am a proud member of the " CONFEDERATE NATIONAL PARTY " in all of these STATES and I make this OATH tonight not only as a MEMBER of the CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA the [ C .S. A. ] but also as " WORSHIPFUL MASTER" in the ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED RITES of FREEMASONRY, I DECREE this that many confederate civil war officers were not only WEST POINT CADETS but also DEVOTED HIRAMS and should be given SUCH RESPECT as their UNION BROTHERS the southern flag shall fly in the south and MEN shall see it and REMEMBER that here men and brothers died for their beliefs and for LIBERTY OF CHOICE-there should be no Rhetoric from men such as JOHN McCAIN but rather RESPECT for ancestral patriots of the SOUTHERN STATES in therein lies a disrespect for the SOUTHERN STATES citizens many of who's ancestors fought and died in the civil war----such ignorance of men like McCAIN has turned this NATIONS infrastructure in REVERSE .when you take away constantly from a people you create division not union .and in doing so you embrace REBELLION and CONTEMPT instead of UNITY,there is a growing concern about our FREEDOMS as WELL we must choose soon a PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, a leader of men and of TRUTH and a CHAMPION of equality for ALL, I will be sponsoring MR.RON PAUL in the STATE of FLORIDA as I feel he is the BEST CHOICE for PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES there may be many disagreements among my PATRIOTIC BROTHERS and I respect you wholeheartedly and you may consider your own choices that is fine , but we must think thoroughly what we desire for our CHILDREN do we want CONTINUES WARS or do we WANT THEIR WELLBEING and EDUCATION so they can become the LEADERS of TOMORROW,DO WE AS PARENTS WANT OUR SONS and OUR DAUGHTERS MINDS DESTROYED BY THE WINDS OF WAR or do we want CREATIVE minds for children who will build our FUTURE , YOURS IS THE CHOICE, I am an AMERICAN vietnam veteran and I'VE fought in other U.S. incursions around the world MANY young men have I seen die with a question in their lips," what am I DYING for " can you tell me ? write my mom please.....and it was difficult watching a young man of 18 die in my arms ..it was, is this what AMERICA wants more WARS if you dont then make your VOICES HEARD and STAND against those who would send your CHILDREN to WAR------DONT VOTE FOR THEM-------------------signed...RICK { KING-FISHER ] ALFONSO 01/23/08 |

KingFisher, interesting post, although very hard to read and follow in one paragraph with all the capital letters. My husband and I often argue over the Stars and Bars. Personally, I find it to be a part of history. Unfortunately, some people are inflamed by it and therefore I wish he would stop plastiering it all over our vehicle before some crackpot shoots ME in the head because it ticked them off. He does it not exactly to offend people but because he believes, like you seem to, that it is a symbol of the South that needs to be preserved. I find the design infinitely more visually appealing than any other flag from anywhere, actually. I find it far less offensive to see a rebel flag than I find it to see foreing flags flying in this country, that is for certain. whoever decided it was meant as a personal affont to black people or anyone else is feeble minded as far as I'm concerned. After all, even though the states seceeded over slavery, the war was, historically, over whether or not they had the right to seceed, not slavery at all. My husband has a reather wonderful shirt with generals Grant and Lee on it with their respective flags. He was told he couldn't wear that shirt into Wal Mart several years ago. I find the refusal to allow him in the store with it far more repulsive than I find the flag. There was a silver dollar made years ago that had that same depiction. My father carried one in his pocket for years. Why wasn't that offensive? I guess there are those who would like to erase history but not only will that never happen, we may wind up repeating it sooner than we think if the federal gov't doesn't get their heads out of their behinds and start taking steps to unite this country rather than encourage further division by supporting foolish notions that trample the freedom of Americans to publicly display things that are pleasing to them such as flags, Bible verses, etc. |
