What Is
Said good bye to you today
Watched as you went and slipped away
Not for the first time I watched one go
Held a hand,prayed for a soul
Some deaths they say are good
Means no "Pain" is understood
Some say its a "blessing"
To no longer suffer I am guessing
And even though I know you've lived a full life
I have seen pictures of children and wife
I see the medal you have earned
And death brings new life in turn
It weighs so heavy in this heart of mine
For in all the years before
I don't remember saying good bye
To so many is so short a time
I can't help weep for what I know
This time it's cost too many untold
They say a virus happened this way
But won't speak of that awful day
The sickness started before is true
A few came down with the flu!
And then came that awful day
When was over many more would pay
I wonder if things would of be different
did all act with best intent!
Or did putting off what should of been done
mean we let the battel be won.
