Well fancy is now on turn out in the small corral(though she really wants to be with Niner)The diaper bandages work great and i had thought with them not completely covering the knee it would get enough air in there.Well of course things can not go right as the luck vulture cirles our 10 acres on a regular basis. And attacks when things look just start to look not so bleak.First off over night the knee get icky and needs to be dried out okay not a big deal I just pack it i lime and today it will be fine.
Now things begin to go down hill at about 7am this morning when Steve goes down to feed and remove the lime packing from her knee.He opens the back door of the barn and there is a pool of water and the hydrant is 3 foot out of the ground and bent. Now its 10 feet down to the joint of pipe and its in the low part of the hay shed so no back hoe to get in there.I have yet to go down and remove the packing as I stopped in here to vent before i continued on the phone to find a back hoe to come out and dig up our water lines so we can move the hydrant outside.I also have to locate a new hrdrant as it is a pipe in side of a pipe.Joy joy fun fun ,all i want to do is set down and cry casue this is so discouraging so close to xmas and there goes the OT check to pay to fix this.We dug it out by hand once before and never again. It took 4 days to dig the sloppy mess out and then we had to fill the hole back in so no not again not in the winter. The worst of it I have to take resonsibilty for it as I was the idot who got side tracked and forgot to take her halter off .so I guess my hope of buying a digital camera as literaly went down the pipe.
