oh, you have a nasty one also...We have an Arabian like that. So mean over food, and space and just a bugger. Now I see why some people send them to the auction, and don't care where they end up at. I would NEVER do that . Some people dont have patience, but what do you do to stop it. You can't reason with them, like a human. Do you think they were rough housed as a young horse, or are just mean? Wish I knew. |

Jag is low boy on picking pole with the mares .Last summer he woudl run the yearlings ,but I believe thatw as becaus eof Gracie and being with the mare and foal some geldings will do that. Now its just peeking order but I am not going to take the chance that he hurt Viper again.I am going to hobble him andput the 2 of them together for about a week then i iwll graduate him to about 2 feet of good heavy chain on a front leg and see how fast he runs then. When you do this it does have to be swapped around ona regular basis from one leg to the other. Jag was proteceted by an old gelding when he was young.Carrot was his surrogate parent from the time he was 4 weeks old until he left Carrots care 2 yrs ago. Some of them are just more agressive then other. My lead mare is wonderful you can put her in with a new horse and she will only be as dominant as she has to she is great with babies for teaching herd manners too.Its really hard to say some get that way becasue they have gone hungry(which has not been Jags case). But he has gone to be ridden in a cattle feed ot for the next month that should take some of the wind out of his sails, and he shoudl be tired LOL.I sure hope so but I will teach him some how and as Viper grows up more to that will help he maybe a big boy but is still very much a baby.
