Hi ty for your replies I am going to try to tell what happened to Theo I might not be able to do this in one sitting. You have to understand that Theo was more than just a dog to me He was like the glue that held me together. Kim you know what my messed up life is like but I'm not going into that.Theo was going to be ten on the 17th of this month Yes I know that is a good LONG time for a big dog But even the Vet said that he was one of the Healtiest dogs he had seen in a very long time and Theos mom died at 16 and his dad was 18. We moved to a new house a couple of months ago and untill then Theo had gone to the vet ONCE and that was to get neuteredaround the 10th of Dec I felt Theo's Lymph glands had swollen up so I got him to the Vet on the 15th it was the soonest they could see him because he was eating and not acting sick they said there was no worries. The vet (and god I kick myself for not running to a new vet then and there) said she didn't know what the lumps were because thier was no glands where the lumps were.Well she wanted to take samples from them but the lab was closed and I would have to come back on Mon.the 17th. On Mon her husband was the vet and right away he said that he was 99% sure it was cancer and that without chimo he might last 6 weeks. He was so sure that he said we could wait for blood tests if on the rare chance being an infection not cancer but I got him to do it then anyway. I spent the night looking online for any other treatment for my Boy. I knew after looking that I might just have to put him to sleep. The Vet called the next day with the results and OH MY GOD  NO CANCER it was an infection. Theo had already been on antibiotics since Fri so man was I so happy and he got him on a broader spectrume pill as well.I took him to the Vet on the 22nd for a quick check because of xmas. He had an appointment to go to intern specialist on the 27th. The vet said he looked and sounded better. I will finish this tomorrow sorry

Hi sorry its taken me this long to finish with what happened to Theo but I am not doing any better one month to the day later with losing him. Anyhow Theo took a turn for the worse that night and I knew he needed to be put to sleep expecially after he died on me at one point Yes I Said DIED and I could not take any more and did not nor ever want to have him or see him in any pain.It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do and I am still sick inside that I couldn't make him better.Maybe if I had gotten him to better vet or made them do tests sooner he would still be here.I have no clue as to what or where he got sick from we moved but only a block from old house and the only thing that really sticks out is sewer backed up in basement where my suite is two days after we moved in. If anyone knows if that could or have any ideal as to what kind of infection could kill a dog in two weeks please let me know .Today is going to be crappy and I have been bawling all night, Will the pain ever go??????  I don't think so. Take care all Kim + Brenda I love you and miss you both

Cherri, I know it is hard to  deal with when loosing a best friend especially when it is  a loyal companion like Theo.  I really have no  idea what could have caused  him to get so sick he died within 2 weeks.  But when they are so ill and suffering  that bad it is better to  let them go than watch them suffer more.
I have been thinking of you  and what you must be going through.  check the  messenger and  see if I am on line when you come on and we can chat someday soon.  I miss our chats.  Luv ya  and miss you too.
