I will keep you posted Kim. We will be attempting to put a saddle on her back tomorrow in our round pen session. That is if she does an about face from the way she was today. Figures they are just like kids. When you want them to behave because company is coming that is when they misbehave. My old boss from when I worked at Loblaw's Head Office almost 23years ago took me out for lunch today and then came out to see Cat. Any other day she comes when I call her and stands perfectly still while I put her halter on; today she decided she would stand still until I started to put her halter on then would turn her head away and then hide behind one of the other horses. Laurie who is helping me train her saw this and told me to deal with it right away that that was just rude. So she put her horses in one of the paddocks away from Cat and I closed the gate to the grass paddock so she couldn't go out there. Laurie told me to round pen her right there in the sand paddock and she would stay on the other side to block her if she got around me. Well she not only got around me but showed me just how wide and high she can jump if the mood strikes her. She jumped the hay containers that were next to the fence and stand at least 3 feet high and they were side by side so were at least 3 feet wide if not more and she cleared them by at least a foot and that was without making any effort. I was so amazed watching her and how graceful she was that I almost forgot to yell to Laurie that she was coming her way. lol Guess I will be taking up eventing after all. lol
Anyways finally got the parellin training halter on her and then took her into the round pen to give her a refresher course and a reminder to use her manners. Think maybe it was the fact that it was much cooler today and she just felt reel good and like a typical 2yo should feel.
Anyways we are round penning again tomorrow so we shall see if she is going to behave for the saddle or not. Supposed to be warm again. So maybe she won't feel so frisky. Can only hope. lol
Will also try to take some pics tomorrow.
