Hi Guys:
Just thought I would share the email from Cat's new trainer with the results of her first day in school. As you will see she continues to show lots of promise. The signs she is talking about are large banner signs that you find in a lot of show rings and are usually the result of a test being blown because the horse spooks at them so bad. So I guess I am not going to have that to worry about anyway. lol
"Cat decided she didn't like her new friends much - spent some time making nasty faces then everyone retired to neutral corners. She liked the look of the group in the next paddock better but they are a rough group of boys and I don't think she'd find them too welcoming on the same side of the fence. By the end of the day she was closer to the other two and I won't be sorry if she doesn't get particularly attached. Other than that she was good going out, is eating well and seems settled.
She was very good about going into the arena and tooling around for a bit, with almost no spooking at the banners etc. around the outside. We concentrated a bit on some 'round pen' work and some 'personal space' issues. She seems very sensible and brave about everything, a little stressed (not a surprise) but not overly silly.
That's about all I have to say so far. I'll e-mail as I have more news.
R."
