Here is an update on Cat's training. I received this email from Rachel last night.
"I switched back to a Happy Mouth bit a few days ago but we still seem to have a problem. Cat has been okay walking the last couple of days - just a little more fussy and resistant in her mouth than I would like - but when I picked up a bit more feel to start work on the trot today she started to fling her head around like it was on fire. Obviously no go with the trotting! When the vet came to do her shots etc. after you brought her home did he/she actually float her teeth or just check visually? Was there anything in particular to see or do? Lots of young horses have teething issues but she seems to be quite late getting her teeth (she's still working on her two-year-old mouth). It's not a big concern - I can just put her back in the side pull - but odds are your coach won't go for that as any sort of long term solution. I will show her to you tomorrow in the bit and you can see the situation for yourself. Other than that she is doing fine, although we had a little you-can't-make-me this week. That's just "her" I think and often goes with the brave attitude."
So that was the report as of 11:37p.m. last night. I went out today to watch Rachel work with Cat and was pleasantly surprised. Cat was on her best behaviour and I actually got to witness her taking her first trot steps with Rachel on her back. It was so exciting; like watching your baby take it's first steps. I am so pleased that I got hooked up with Rachel.
