Hi,
Everything was a quieter today and Cat seemed to find the great outdoors a little less exciting. Boy, she's a forward sort of a girl, though and that's a little more in evidence outside. Because I'm riding outside now, I get a chance to observe the horses at liberty a little more (without them paying attention to me), which is a good way of sorting out "temperament" as opposed to tension and/or training. In other word if the horse goes a certain way while free (i.e. lazy, very forward, high headed etc.) then that is probably the "real" horse, versus whatever you see in work. Not that it can't be changed, but it will take effort and be against the horse's instincts. Her walk has always been good and her trot is getting bigger as she gets stronger and starts to work over her back. Anyway it's good to see that she's filled with the joy of youth and spring!
Talk to you soon.
R.
As you have seen from prior posts she can react quite strongly when exposed to something new but gets over it quite quickly.
