i posted some pictures of her under pictures her name is pws margarita she is a quarter /paint/ therberead. wright now we are working blanket and halter training some round pin things lunging. learing to get her feet cliped by a regular ferrier is the hardest she hates her back feet touched but we are getting it it is slow, plus she is recovering from a hurrnia it is goning away slowly i on its own. we are hopeing anyway.it isnt a bad one so maybe in time i can bread her to a very nice and eligable stud. she came from texas from a very good breader there. her sire is regusteread and iam purty sure he is well known there. her dam is pws sarsparilla she is a 3/4 therbread 1/4 quarter horse she also resides in texas. ive had her since march so we are still getting to know eachothers weaknesses and streaths. she can be a smart one in the mornings but changes her miend quickly. i hope to interduse her to a bit soon and maybe a saddle to give a little weight to see how she responds to it all in all she is a good horse and learns fast.she is like a child in so many ways and she dont get away with mutch.i know we have along way to go to learn things toeghter but iam up to it and so is she. |

Hey Pam saw the pics of your filly. She is a cutie. If you go to Legacy Aristocrat (not the first album but the one further down) you will see the pics of my 3yo Cleveland Bay/TB cross filly (nicknamed Cat). I purchased her from the breeder out in B.C. last summer when I knew I would be giving my TB gelding Frasier to my daughter. His album is named Frasier. If you look thru the training posts you will see all the posts I have posted since she arrived last September writing about her progress. Take care and look forward to hearing more about your training with your young one. |

lol. I know what you mean about that cleaning their room bit. Cat had lived out on pasture from the day she was born until she arrived here last September and to this day she is not a totally happy camper when she is in her stall. I had Cat with a professional trainer from Dec./02 until May of this year to back her and get her started. Boy did she do an awesome job with her. Now I have her at my coach's barn where I was waiting for a stall to come available since she arrived last year. We did a lot of John Lyons and Monty Roberts work with her when she first arrived and the trainer continued that in her work with her. She has an excellent work ethic especially for being a mare so I am told (I have never owned a mare before so was not prepared for the moodiness). We are finally bonding now that I am working with her on a daily basis and not someone else and I am pleased to say that she is just as loving and smart and caring as my TB gelding Frasier. My coach will be getting on her for the first time today since I moved her there so am quite excited about that. Due to circumstances beyond my control this year she hasn't had anyone on her back since May but I have been working her on the lunge line on a regular basis. I am quite anxious to get up on her but not being quite as young as I used to be I want someone who trains and is a professional rider to be the first one back on her. Plus my coach knows all of my little riding quirks so by her getting on her first she will know better how to direct me on what to do and what not to do. Will keep you posted. |

yes i also know about that bit about not as young myself, i used to take care of horses at a ridding stabble in my teans than got married at 18 and raised a family now kids are grown got a horse of my own and now iam woundering when it is time to get on my horse for the first time boy i can hardly think about my butt is goning to feel.i am also doning the same tech. as you and your trainer i like his books, and he knowes what he is doning and horses respond rather well. i want to gentle her to a saddle not break her or break her wind. i beleave in a gental touch and a calm voice. and goning slow with the teachings will also increase a bond between you and your friend.with my filly she still has a small hurnia it is goning away hopefuly it will do so so my vet will not have to use old methouds from the past to correct it. and surgery isnt the answer mt vet uses old technics from our past that have worked.my fill has a good heart and a very good temperment except on her heat cycles like all girls but i over look that.ive got her borded out for now till i can get a place with property than get her a roomate she has 2 now and one showes her bad habbits but this is also normal by next spring she will be ready for more training than she had goten this year ive had her since march and wanted her to settle in and relax to let her hurnia take care of its self and it has so far.ive got all my tack and a western saddle and blankets just waiting for her.when the time is wright and when my butt hits the saddle for the first time since the early years well it will be soar. but ill be up for the excitment and injoyment of it all. pam keep in touch
