CARAMEL - OAT BARS
2 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips. Spread in greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
Bake until bubbly, about 8-9 minutes. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand until soft; spread evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Cut into bars. Store in the refrigerator.
