It's been a week now. The world has changed forever. It makes one half believe the creation theory.
Temperatures here have dropped 50 degrees and rarely go above 55 degrees anymore, at night it drops to freezing. Barely ever heard of here in the desert.
Thank the Goddess Stewart never throws... threw anything out. We still have the winter coats in a closet from before we moved here from Colorado. Wearing his coat makes me feel safer somehow. I miss him so much. I hope and pray he made it, and is somehow, someday going to come home to us.

After our visit from the army guys yesterday and learning what happened I have to find away to tell the kids that this is not merely "camping out" waiting for the electricity to come back on. This is how we will live for the foreseable future, and keep them hoping "Daddy" will come home someday.

Maybe the news will put an end to the grumbling. Old Lady Getz dying really jerked a knot in their attitudes. But I don't want them to get irretrievably depressed.
I'm working on setting up a routine of daily activities, weekly activities, monthly activities and seasonable activities. The culture and society they have always known is gone. We are so isolated here, we will have to create our own culture. With the Goddess's help we can keep hope alive, and work on always having something to look forward to.

Tonight we will hold a ritual to send Stewart love and strength and energy to find a way home, and to heal the earth's wounds and the wounds of the hearts of those we know and care about, and to Thank the Goddess for the graces we have enjoyed in light of the devestation around us.

I'll think about what to do tomorrow, tomorrow. I'm keeping a journal so we never forget how strong we were to be doing as well as we have.

Well, it has gotton cold and we have dug out all the blankets that we have. We don't have a wood stove but my husband never throws anything out so we where able to fashion one out and put it in the house. We live in a wooded area so we have enough wood. The kids are getting board knowing now that we might never have power again. We have been coming closer as a family unit now, with no TV, or computers or video games the kids have turned to telling stories and writing them.
I heal a ritual last night and sked the Goddess to watch over us in these times and to bless with enough food and health for how every long it takes,
I am tired now after lugging water and doing wash it is almost dark so I am going to retire. I will wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Another day, though it still looks like the sun really never comes out.  It got so cold last night that everything was frozen this morning, crystalized blossom on my trees, things won't ever be the same will it.
We try hard to hang on to some kind of joy, but the depression is knocking at the door insisting on coming in.  I miss so many of my people, I wonder how they are doing.  But I know there is no time for dwelling on what was it times to make something new from what we have.
Den saddle up our mare and was heading to Bob's then they would meet up with Sal so they could do a sweep of an area for anyone that was in trouble.  He left me the walkie talkie which gave me a little piece mind while he was out there.
I thought today it would be a good day to make some breads anything to keep my mind off the worst.
Just as I was sitting down for a afternoon tea, I heard soft knock on the door, my heart jumped into my throat.  What do I do, where the walkie talkie the dogs started to bark and I got very scared.  I walked to the door as quiet as possible and peaked out of the corner of the window, there was a young girl with a small boy standing at the door.  They were so dirty and cold, I opened the door and stepped out slightly looked around and saw nothing just a few sets of foot prints, one Den's and the other two belong to these children.  I asked them if they wanted to come in and get warm, the little boy took the girl's hand and pulled her in.
I got them each a cup of warmed milk and a piece of bread with jam sat them down in front of the stove.  Just as I was about to ask them their names the boy blurted out I'm Stevie and this is my sister Shania.  We live down the road our Mom and Dad went to town and left us home and they haven't come home yet, do you know my Mom and Dad, have you seen them?
I looked into his eyes, thought for a moment and then told them that my husband Den and two other men were going from house to house as we speak so maybe they will come across you parents.
Their clothes were so dirty, I thought I had to have something around here to give them, found some jeans and sweaters, they were a bit big but with a few hand stitches and a good belt we could make them work.  They washed and changed, I set up a couple of cots near the stove with blankets and as soon as they heads hit the pillow they were sleeping.
I finished my baking, cleaned up their clothes and waited for Den to come home.
My how nice I thought someone to share the day with, but I do hope that Den is able to find their parents.  Oh, better make a point to figure in inventory in the next couple of days, now that we have two more mouths to feed.  I will also have to set up some things for us all to do so they don't get bored, maybe they won't mined helping with the animals.
It's getting late, hope Den home soon, I don't like it when he out late not like there is lighting once the day ends. I lit a couple of candles and decided to do a little journaling and reading. As I sat in the overstuff chair a looked over at the little ones, the were sleeping so soundly and a coupleof my dogs were cuddling with them, you might think they have always live with here.
Thank you Blessed Mother, thank you for helping these precious babies to find our home.  Thank you for all the blessing of the day and please help our world to heal.

Day Seven:

It's nice here with my friend, Moe. She and I always have a great chemistry so we have been trying to keep things lighthearted. Ehren and I wrote a little story last night and we acted it it out for everyone, which was enjoyable and it made everyone laugh. I've been keeping up with my journal, and my studies, along with Moe, just to keep our minds active, as our hands are busy. The three of us are planning a small ritual for tomorrow night, for protection and bounty in this time of darkness. We heard more rumbling in the distance, and I've had more strange dreams. Our bodies are aching from the work and the cold, but we've been warm enough, with the clothing and blankets that we have. Thankfully Cheryl enjoys collecting and making quilts. I guess we've been trying to keep our thoughts positive, so we're a little more prepared for the next blow, whatever it might be. It was so quiet outside, I didn't hear one gunshot, one call, one animal scurrying or running past. Just nothingness. Eerie and chilling, but we had each other to keep company, and for that I am eternally grateful.
