SCENTED JELLY JARS

2 cups distilled water
4 packages Knox unflavored gelatin
50 drops essential oil or potpourri oil
food coloring

Heat one cup of distilled water in a sauce pan until almost
boiling. Add the desired food coloring. Remove from heat and
add the other cup of water and the gelatin. Stir until
dissolved. Divide the oil into jars. Add the gelatin mixture
to the jars. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Remove
the jars and cover with the lids. Store at room temperature.
To release the scent, remove the lid. The gelatin will slowly
dry out and release the scent as it dries. If you want a more
dressed up jar, put a piece of lace over top and secure with
ribbon or rubber band. This will still allow the scent to
be released.

SCENTED JELLY JARS II

8 oz. liquid potpourri
2 envelopes of Knox gelatin
Containers (canning jars, unique bottles, bowls, etc.)
Boil the liquid, then add the gelatin. Stir until dissolved. Pour
into containers and cool. You can add embellishments such as flowers
or shells to the jelly while it is cooling. You may change the color
of the jelly with a little food coloring as well. Once cool, decorate
the containers with ribbons, lace, or whatever you desire.
