Assignment for

MAY

May is such a special time and I would like to have each of you to do some very hands-on things this month. So the MAY assignment will be a set of things to do and post in your personal area. In addition to your dedication to being a Priest or Priestess of Light & Shadows you need to feel like and look like you have a station. So here are what I would like you to do this month.

1. I would like you to make a 2nd degree cord for yourself. Your colors will be :

<DIR>
  • White to signify that you have completed your First degree year and a day and the training that goes along with that dedication. Within this cord, I would like you to place a special stone that has been a talisman of yours for your Wiccan path...You will immediately know the one as you read this. If you purchase cording for your project, I ask that you also get a strong glue to attach this talisman within the fibers of this cording. If you are making the rope yourself whether it be a crocheted yarn or a velvet fabric that you have made into a cord..this is up to you.
  • Red to signify Your step into the Second Degree leadership and learning to follow the prompting of the Lord & Lady as they whisper ever louder. I would like you to soak this cording with a mixture of Patchouli and Lavender mixed in baby oil. You can put this mixture in a spray bottle and spray it on, or just dab it on as you feel is best for your personal cording.
  • Silver beading cord to signify our Goddess and that you are taking on the Moon Energy to help guide your path during this year. You will find this cording in most fabric stores. I have seen it in the bargain bins in little clear cups at Joanne's Fabrics stores. This cord should be smudged over incense of sweetgrass.

Each of these cords should be 3 YARDS long.

Take these three cords and take the LEFT SIDE and tie a knot 9 inches from the end.

You will then braid your cords together. As you plait them you should chant your intention for your path as a Priest/ess. Envision yourself empowered by the Goddess energy that embodies you at you become one with her and combine that energy to be impregnated with the power of the God energy and warrior spirit. One to defend the Goddess and Nurture all that comes to you. Help guide and counsel as you are guided yourself.

</DIR>

Finish the Cord by again tieing it off 9 inches from the end and then fray the cords together...You can use a brush to comb them together if you wish. Another option would be that you get a RED tassel and affix it to the end rather than fray it. Use your intuition and imagination. This is your 2nd degree cord and should reflect you.

******

2.  What do you use your Degree cord for?  Write some things that this cord is used for and why you have it as part of your ritual attire.

3.  As a Second Degree Dedicant, you should have a Ritual Robe of your station.  The Color of Second Degree is RED and you should have one in your wardrobe. This is something I would like you to make or buy.  When you have it, post a picture of yourself in this Robe (for men, if you wish, it can be a peasant-type shirt with the proper pants and (You have seen the ones I am talking about with the lacing in the front...This is also a nice touch for a man's robe as it gives it a masculine flair.  I invite you to use your imagination a bit and do something fabulous!)  Also I invite all you priestesses to have a special ritual gown that makes you feel as sexy as a May Queen.  Have fun with this project and know that it is made as a special offering to the Lord & Lady and as you wear this in ritual , you will feel the power of majesty that you wield.

4.  Now that you have your cord and your Ritual attire, you need your cape.  For this project, I would like you to make a light cape.  This one can be long or mid length but it should be one that will be nice for summer ritual outdoors.  so when you shoose a fabric, make it a light one.  this one , I would like you to make should be Gray. with Red Cording or trim on it.  If you do not have a sewing machine, do simple hand sewing.  You can even use fabric glue for the trim if you do not want to take the time to use a needle and thread.  But do remember that you wield magick in stitching.  Check out the board on L&S about magickal sewing.  I believe it is located on the Quilting board..I will check to make sure.

Have fun with these project assignments and know that this May assignment carries a lot of magick with it and I look forward to your comments.

Blessed Be and Good Luck

~ Lady Majyk ~
