Blood Moon Ritual Take a moment to do some deep breathing and bring your conscious thoughts to this time within time. Breathe in through your nose....(count to three)...now slowly out through your mouth blowing softly as if you were slowly toying with a flame . Once again do this breathing and clear your mind of the outside world. Sitting comfortably but upright, feel your weight on the chair or floor and relax into it. Imagine breathing in and out down and to your navel, taking a few deep breaths to settle in. Let your attention gather at a point at the base of your spine, imagine it as a point of energy. Notice what sensations you feel there.
Move your attention to the crown of the head, imagine a point of energy there. Notice what sensations you feel. Allow energy to move freely between these two points.
Let your attention come to rest at a point of balance along this line, deep within you, at the center of your being.
From this center of your being, imagine the line of light extending downward through your legs and feet, relaxing the toes and sinking into the earth. Breathing out, let all tension and fatigue run down this line into the earth. Breathing in, imagine drawing up, through the soles of your feet, fresh, transformed earth energy. Allow it to fill your whole body from the feet up to the crown of your head, bringing a feeling of being supported and cradled by the solidity of the earth. Allow light and clearness from the heavens to radiate down the line of light to fill the whole body. Breathe into the center of your being and feel the two energies, from the earth and the sky, together. From this center let your attention be on your breath moving in and out. Take some peaceful breaths of cleansing and renewal. Feel the breath draw life into the body and the spirit. Breathe deeper and feel the breath draw not just from the air around you but also from the earth below. Breathe in this earth energy with each breath. Breathe with every pore of your body, feeling the awakening that is beginning to happen. Allow the life giving energies to pour into you and renew both your body and spirit. Let the earth energy surround you and flow into you. Feel it pulsing through your veins and surrounding you altogether. Continue to breathe this way, slowly and begin to relax even more.
As you sink deeper into this relaxation, feel yourself moving gently deeper into your body. Allow it to melt into the floor beneath you.
Know that the floor is supported by the secure structure of the building, the building by the secure foundation and the foundation is supported by secure mother Earth. You become aware that you are centered again within it. You feel it surround you and you are comforted by its familiarity. You realize that your body has also been renewed and refreshed while you were in the midst of the profound love you just experienced. This gives you great pleasure. Now breathe deeply in and out and feel the body's life systems awakening. Breathe deeply again and as you release the breath, you become aware of all the sounds of life around you. Breathe a third time, you are fully centered, refreshed, and renewed. You are now fully grounded... Ready yourself and look to the East as you wait for the Blood Moon! Draw on Her...You feel this experience... Feel the drums pound in your blood, as waves pounding on the shore. See the moon rising from her watery bed, rising slowly, silently into the sky, competing with the stars for a path through the blackness, her hair lying flowing on the waters. Feel as her fullness climbs into the realm of the sun, laying claim to her place. Feel as she exerts her influence, feel as her presence pulls the tides, the tides that made the pounding waves advance and recede along the beach. As she becomes fuller, she gathers the oceans to her, and releases them, and gathers your body to her and releases it. Feel her draw you near, and let you slip away, and draw you near again. The waters of your body, the waters in your cells, feel her pull, as she waxes and wanes. Feel as the beat of the drums brings you into synchrony with the waves that wash the shores, wash higher with every break, wash higher as she waxes fuller and fuller. Feel the drums pull you into her sphere, into her light, as she fills your vision. She grows larger and larger, her silver bathing you, draping over you, embracing you, engulfing you. Her silver light rolls over you, seeps into your skin, into your veins, into your self, runs into you until you are of her, absorbed, whole, complete in her, made of the light that is her. Feel yourself expand as you become part of her, feel yourself begin to feel her, as you are absorbed into her. Her thoughts are your thoughts, her instincts your instincts. As you look down from the heights, see the land laid out below you, quiet, dark, your light falling on the bare trees, the sleeping trees, the sleeping creatures beneath them. Smell the cool damp of autumn leaves, now lifeless on the forest floor. Your silver rays make cold and silent fires in the lakes. The world beneath is yours, safe in your care, shaped in your body, nestled in your cool arms. This ritual celebrates the life forces which support and nurture us throughout our life. Purpose : To celebrate the energies that create and support life. Full Blood Moon Esbat Ritual October - Experiencing life's energy by Lady Majyk Myst In October, the night is longer than the day. The harvest is winding down; people are preparing their homes and their larders for the winter. In Celtic traditions, Samhain (SOW-en), which occurs on October 31st, is the end of the old year, with November 1st being the beginning of the new. The phrase "Blood Moon" may have referred to animal sacrifices hundreds of years ago. More likely, this was the time when livestock would be slaughtered for food. The word "blood," in some traditions refers to the life force which courses through the Earth and her beings. In October, we become aware of a tendency to "nest," rather than exert ourselves, and we stock energy, in the form of food, for the winter. It is also the start of hunting seasons everywhere. It is a time to give thanks for what we have harvested during the year, new friendships, a raise, good fortune, etc. It is also a time to give thanks for the plants and animals that had to die that we might continue to live. It is not a time of guilt, for if nothing had to die, the balance of nature would not be maintained. This is simply a time to acknowledge that we are a part of the natural cycles, and not separate or exempt from their influence The times of the Waxing and Full Moon are most commonly used for attacting, rather than banishing, energies. This ritual celebrates the life forces which support and nurture us throughout our life. Purpose: To celebrate the energies that create and support life. Tools: - A bright or dark Red Candle should be on the altar the represent Spirit and the life force which Spirit grants us. (Dress this candle with cinnamon & dragon's Blood or something of fire energy prior to ritual)

- A Crystal from the Earth. Any green or red stone which speaks to you of the energy of life is appropriate. (I prefer Bloodstone, since it contains both green and red and has an appropriate name.) This crystal will be charged for use as a reminder stone, to carry with you or place in your environment until the next Full Moon.

Breathe in through your nose....(count to three)...now slowly out through your mouth blowing softly as if you were slowly toying with a flame . Once again do this breathing and clear your mind of the outside world. Sitting comfortably but upright, feel your weight on the chair or floor and relax into it. Imagine breathing in and out through your navel, taking a few deep breaths to settle in. Let your attention gather at a point at the base of your spine, imagine it as a point of energy. Notice what sensations you feel there.
Move your attention to the crown of the head, imagine a point of energy there. Notice what sensations you feel. Notice what sensations you feel. Allow energy to move freely between these two points.
Let your attention come to rest at a point of balance along this line, deep within you, at the center of your being.
From this center of your being, imagine the line of light extending downward through your legs and feet, relaxing the toes and sinking into the earth. Breathing out, let all tension and fatigue run down this line into the earth. Breathing in, imagine drawing up, through the soles of your feet, fresh, transformed earth energy. Allow it to fill your whole body from the feet up to the crown of your head, bringing a feeling of being supported and cradled by the solidity of the earth. Allow light and clearness from the heavens to radiate down the line of light to fill the whole body. Breathe into the center of your being and feel the two energies, from the earth and the sky, together. From this center let your attention be on your breath moving in and out. Take some peaceful breaths of cleansing and renewal. Feel the breath draw life into the body and the spirit. Breathe deeper and feel the breath draw not just from the air around you but also from the earth below. Breathe in this earth energy with each breath. Breathe with every pore of your body, feeling the awakening that is beginning to happen. Allow the life giving energies to pour into you and renew both your body and spirit. Let the earth energy surround you and flow into you. Feel it pulsing through your veins and surrounding you altogether. Continue to breathe this way, slowly and begin to relax even more.
As you sink deeper into this relaxation, feel yourself moving gently deeper into your body. ALlow it to melt into the floor beneath you.
Know that the floor is supported by the secure structure of the building, the building by the secure foundation and the foundation is supported by secure mother Earth. You become aware that you are centered again within it. You feel it surround you and you are comforted by its familiarity. You realize that your body has also been renewed and refreshed while you were in the midst of the profound love you just experienced. This gives you great pleasure. Now breathe deeply in and out and feel the body's life systems awakening. Breathe deeply again and as you release the breath, you become aware of all the sounds of life around you. Breathe a third time, you are fully centered, refreshed, and renewed. You are now fully grounded... Take a moment to reflect as the Blood Moon E sbat will start momentatrily. Lady Majyk moves to the South, raises her arms and says aloud: Hail to the Guardian of the Watchtower of the South and the Element of fire, We call upon your powers of fire & beseech the keepers of the white spirit to guide us. Let the passion of your being flow through us, encourage us, renew our failing hopes and guard us now in our endeavors. We call to thee, join us this night. Hail and Welcome! You now turn to the West and visualize a wondorus funnel of whirling water rising high into the fading skyline. Lady Majyk moves to the West, raises her arms and says aloud: Hail to the Guardian of the Watchtower of the West and the Element of Water, keepers of water and place of the setting sun. We call upon your aid this night to shelter our sacred wheel as we celebrate the fullness of our Mother. With your presence let us be renewed by the flowing waters and so be reborn in spirit, we call to thee, join us this night Hail and Welcome! As you face the North , you now visualize a Mountainous earthen piller of earth and plants of all kinds GREEN and full of the lushness of life.
