~ Lesson # Six ~

Visualization is an activity, which all of us perform every day. We plan and conduct our life according to the images that rotate in our minds. All the strivings, desires and ambitions have much to do with our mental images. We visualize constantly, whether we are aware of the fact or not. This activity has a very important place in the life of everyone.

Whenever you think or plan what to wear at work, at a party or on the beach, your imagination is in action. You use your imagination to visualize yourself wearing the clothes you are thinking about.

When you set out to go to some familiar place, such as your office, the grocery, a shopping mall, or a friend's house, your mind sees the place and the route to it, albeit unconsciously. Before going to a place where you have not been before, you plan your way beforehand. How do you do it? You use your imagination. You use your ability to visualize. You visualize the road, the streets you have to pass through, and even the traffic lights. You plan the way with the help of a map and your visualizing ability.

Suppose somebody asks you how to get to a certain address. You describe the way, while at the same time you see it in your imagination.

When you decide to bake a cake, buy a new pair of trousers, redecorate your home, decide which car to buy, plan your vacation, tell a story, or narrate a movie, imagination and visualization are at work.

What about daydreams? We imagine scenes and actions in the movie of the mind. At the moment we daydream, the daydream may seem real to us. If we repeat the same daydream over a period of time it becomes a habit. We may even start to believe it and accept it as a reality, especially when strong emotions are involved.

When positive daydreams materialize, they can bring only good. Yet daydreams can also be about unpleasant events, about difficulties, trouble and self pity. Then we call them worries. If we go on repeating them, they may materialize and bring unpleasantness and unhappiness.

What we visualize affects our attitudes, moods and state of mind. This means that we have to be very careful with what enters our mind. Thoughts are visitors, but when the same kinds of thoughts frequent the mind often, they become permanent residents. Do you accept and allow anyone to come and stay at your home? If you don't, why do you let thought do that?

Now to the practical stuff. Visualizing and expecting intentionally an event, action, or object is doing more then just an act of visualization. It is an act of creation. Deciding upon something that we really want to happen, and visualizing it with concentration, faith and desire, set great powers into action. Creative visualization is a powerfull tool, which we need to know how to use correctly and positively.

Creative visualization is the creation of an image in the mind, and through natural, mental laws cause it to manifest on the material plane.

It is a natural process all of us employ, though unconsciously. The thoughts that pass through our mind create our life. It is possible to learn to accept only salutary thoughts, and then go consciously through the process of visualization, to fill our life with happiness, success, health and magic.

Visualization and imagination are the cornerstones of magick. Spells and rituals make use of mental images, and are not different from creative visualization. When casting a spell or performing a ritual, attention, concentration and imagination are called into action. The energy evoked is the power that drives the mental images into action and manifestation.

We perform mental magic whenever we think a concentrated thought combined with emotion. Our strong thoughts have a definite effect on our environment and the people around us. To some extent, we are all magicians, though few realize it....... SO remember this as you go further into your Whispering Mind.

Now on to the Ritual for this Lesson.

I hope you enjoyed the beginnings of experiencing meditation and found yourself relaxed with last several weeks of visua meditations. It is time to get ready for our next journey and as you grow more comfortable with each session, you must realize that your are also growing more secure in focusing yourself to be able to gather the power needed for ritual as well as just getting yourself healthier and able to control your emotion. That is something that is very handy after a long day.

It is time to gather your things to make your meditation the best it can be. Turn off anything that may bother you or take your attention from your intent. You may like to light a candle and / or some incense as that helps some of us to calm our minds. Get your journal and make sure it is handy and the ink in your writing instrument is flowing well. Nothing is more frustrating than a pen that won't write. Take off your glasses and any restraining clothing that you might be wearing. Are you ready?

Meditation # 6

"Meeting Ma`aglynn

 &

the Journey within"

***********************

Relax and get comfortable. Close your eyes and take three deep breaths....Find yourself grounding ....you do this as you have previously learned. Your body is becoming used to the grounding and you will do it almost immediately after the thought... "GROUND"

(pause and keep breathing in regular deep breaths)

You are standing on a frozen path that leads into a wide meadow covered with snow. The air is chilly and you feel an ache in your bones that tells you that you have travelled too far without a rest. The last light of afternoon is flickering and you know it will soon be dark

In the center of the meadow stands an ancient oak tree, taller than any oak you have ever seen. A door at its base leads into the tree trunk, and you can see a house built in the limbs and branches at the crotch of the tree. This is where your journey leads to...

You have come to this place to meet Ma`aglynn. Along this journey, you have heard rumors of how wise this man is. Now you have found his home and you are ready to ask him if he will teach you that which you need to know in order to manifest your dreams.

The clouds are blowing in on the chill wind, and thick flakes of snow begin to fall. A golden light is glowing from the window of the tree house and your feet propel you down the path, into the meadow. Soon you are at the door.

The ancient tree is far wider than you first imagined, at least fifteen people could hold hands and still not circle the base. You take a deep breath and knock at the door.

In a few moments the door creeks open and a young girl, holding a candle peers out at you. She wears a robe that matches the silvery sky and her eyes reveal an age far older than her body's years. She stands back and bids you enter. "The night is cold, Be welcome, stranger."

She leads you to the center of the room inside the trunk of the mighty oak, where a staricace circles high into the upper reaches of the tree. Without a word, she begins to ascend the steps, indicating that you should follow her.

As you pass through the tree you get the feeling of immense age and strength surrounding you. While the tree is hollow, you sense it is very much alive and that the very cells of this oak are saturated with years of magickal workings and energy. You can not help but reach out to touch the hard, polished wood. When you do, a surge of power races through your body.

The staircase opens up into a large parlor. The girl stands back, allowing you to pass in front of her.as she points to a chair. "My father will be with you shortly." and disappears through a door to your left.

Two rocking chairs and a small divan encircle a glowing fire - but when you come close to warm yourself, you notice that no wood fuels this flame, and no smoke rises from the hearth. Warmth soaks into your body, though, and regardless of the source, the heat is welcome after the bitter cold of the outdoors.

You now sit in one of the chairs and look around. The room has a golden quality to it - a warm homey environment. A long plank table with matching benches sits in one corner and books line the wall. You begin looking through the titles. You have already read several, but there are many others you have never heard of before. Many are ancient and you know it they are filled with wonderful knowledge.

Several doors lead out of the parlor. Before long the girl reappears, with her enters a man wearing a brown tunic and trousers. He is bald and bearded and carries a long staff bedecked with feathers, fur, and crystals.

He holds his hand out to you and welcomes you. "Come...dine with us."

You feel the need to explain your presence, but when you start to speak, he raises one hand. "Patience. There is time enough for discussion. Now eat."

The girl had set the table and brought in a tureen of soup and the scent of fresh-baked bread fills the room. You eat with relish and silence. (Pause)

After you have eaten, you find the food has warmed more than your belly. The chill from the snow is gone and you feel quite comfortable.

The man escorts you back to the fire; he sits in one of the rocking chairs while his daughter curls up on the divan. "So you seek a teacher?"

As you nod he continues, "My students learn many lessons here. You must understand, I have no answers for you. I merely help you discover this knowledge within yourself."

His voice is learned and low, "Now that you have supped with me...I want you to close your eyes, I am going to take you on a journey."

You do as you are told and breathe deep breaths. You follow his words and let them lead you within yourself. As he speaks, your mind swirls and the one thing that you needed answers to has appeared. He guides you to confront it. You listen to a voice deep within and know that this is where wisdom resides... (pause and listen)

Maaglynn sits beside you. You hear him speaking. "I know these questions are not easily answered. They can make your head spin... but know you will return to them time and again for the rest of your journey. Lastly, remember that at the end of a quest lies the beginning of another. Life is a cycle and even though you may accomplish something wonderful, there is always new paths lying beyond the one on which you presently walk.

You see, I do not give you wisdom, but, only help you discover it within yourself. You have come to the end of the first part of your journey. You have all the tools you need to accomplish your goals. Your path now leads you into the growth of your will."

You now have a chance to ask Maaglynn what you will and he will answer. (pause and listen)

He stands and gestures to the girl , "My daughter will see to your room for the night and you may rest before you head off to your quest. You are now satisfied that you know what to do and go with excitement in your heart.

***********************

You now count from ten to one and become aware of your surroundings...you feel refreshed and ready for the world.

Remember, to write down all that has come to you during this meditation. I look forward to hearing about your experience.

Bright Blessings
