Potions vs. Infusions
This weeks lesson is short and easy after all that writing you have been doing .
What is a potion
A potion is a form of magick when we mix ingredients together to help us achieve our goals. Potions can be used for many different applications, including but not limited to anointing, cleansing, and banishing. Potions can be drunk but more often than not are used as a cleansing agent, to protect, to banish or to bring about a change. To make a potion you will gather herbs, other items such as crystals, water, or wine to name a few. Mix them together and apply them as needed.
What is an infusion?
An infusion is an herbal remedy you drink to achieve your results. Infusions essentially are teas to overcome illnesses. Infusions are made by placing one to two teaspoons of dried herb placed in one cup of boiling water for up to 10 minutes. Do not leave the herbs in the boiling water for too long as it will make the infusion bitter when drunk. You will take an infusion one to two times daily as needed much like any other remedy.
When do I use a potion as opposed to an infusion?
Potions are used more often than an infusion. Potions are used for magickal intent and while infusions can be used for magickal purposes they are primarily used for healing of the body.
