In this lesson we will learn how to make incense which will be burnable on a charcoal block.  This lesson will add a more personal flair to your spells and rituals with powerful incenses created by you for your individual needs.

As with anything we do, the closer we are to the process of our items being made, the more power they will hold for us.  We use Incense to represent the powers of Air on our altar and in our rites.  We use this to set the “mood�?for meditation and to ease a troubled mind.  Incense has been used for thousands of years as a part of worship, and the making of atmosphere.

Incense itself can be made through several methods.  The method we are going to touch upon is making incense by hand through the mortar and pestle without any substances added to self-ignite.  Our incenses will be charcoal block burnt incense.  This is a far more inexpensive and easy method of making incense and can be made on the fly as it requires no set time.

For this first lesson we are going to make an incense for prosperity.

Items needed:

• Mortar and Pestle
• Charcoal Block
• Sage
• Cinnamon
• Patchouli

In your motar and pestle mix 3 parts Sage, 1 part Cinnamon, 2 parts Patchouli.  Add Each herb in small portions slowly and grind well.

You will use this incense during a candle magick spell for bringing prosperity to your home and life.  Here is a simple candle magick spell for prosperity:

Needed:

• 4inch ritual Green Candle (qty3)
• Prosperity Incense
• White Candle

Preparation:

Cleanse your altar area.

Carve the Rune “BERKANA �?Growth�?on each candle.

Dress each candle with Patchouli for added attraction.

Place all your candles upon the altar along with the incense.

Place a coin on your altar under the green candle

Cleanse yourself ritually.

Light your White Altar candle

Light your charcoal block and add some incense to the block.

Open a Circle (In the fashion you are accustomed)

Great Dedun God of Wealth

Riches of the Southern Lands

Surrounding they feet emeralds, rubies, and gold

Follow the road which leads to me

Share with me thy wealth

Emeralds and Gold filling my hands

Not so much I cannot hold

Bring this and share thy wealth with me!

Sit and visualize your pockets filling with gold.  The prosperity filling every aspect of your life.  Hold your visualization as long as you like.

Finish your spell “This is my will so mote it be�?/STRONG> once you have held your visualization for a time you are comfortable with.

Close your circle (as accustomed)

Allow the green candle to burn out completely.

Complete this spell for the next 2 nights reciting the poetic chant each time and visualizing prosperity coming to your life.
