Greetings Everyone!!
 
   I hope you are ready to start "Hands-on" learning about  how to meditate...and how important meditation is in the Path of the Wise.
 
This series of instruction I will be posting in the coming weeks, will take your interaction here on the board.
 
I hope you are willing to be a part of this fun and valualbe part of your path.
 
I hope you will always feel free to ask questions when they arise and also tell me of your experiences with each step and the progress you make. 
 
Now ...what I need is for you to let me know if you are intersted in participating...Just let me know by posting under this thread and we wil get started on MONDAY...this will be instruction on the board and will depend on your input as to how long this instruction goes and what pace it will take.
 
So if you are interested...just let me know under this post...
 
I look forward to hearing from you soon....and we will all learn how easy it is to learn MEDITATIVE WAYS...

Hi Everyone,
   I will give you a bit of a rundown on how the Meditation series will go...FIRST and foremost, know that your times schedule will be decided by YOU.  so anyone working should be able to work this in after or before you go to work.  so do not worry about missing out...
I will post a new Meditation approximately once a week, but will be answering you daily.
 
Valira Mists and I will be posting things that will help you and when you have any questions, we will be right here to answer.
 
When I post a meditation, I will ask that you do it as soon as you can...it is optimal to record the meditation and then play it back as you completely focus.  For those of you that do not have a tape recorder, you may have a good experience by having your journal at the computer and writing down your thoughts as soon as you read the post at the board .  You can also copy it off and read it as you sit at your meditation area or have someone else read it to you, altho, the last idea , may be too distracting for you to begin with.
 
I would like you to come to the board and post as soon as you write in your journal as your experience will be fresh in your mind and it is best written about at this time.  Also, be sure to post any questions you may have as well.
 
Thanks for being here and I look forward to hearing from each of you soon.  Tomorrow , I will post your first exercise...so until then

Greetings Everyone,
 
Welcome to Meditative Ways!!
 
    I am so happy to see you all here and ready to delve into the world of Meditation!  In the next days and weeks, we will be studying a wonderful tool of our art.  Meditation is very imprtant to our path as it helps develop our skills of concentration, our focus and our visualization which is so important , not only to calm our daily lives , but for our ritual work as well.  I hope you will stay with this as you will learn so much about yourself as we delved deeper with each session. 
 
   I will be asking you to each post your experiences of each meditation as well as any comments and questions you will have.  This is important to the class to have your feedback and it will help you to examine your progress as well. 
 
    There are a few things I would ask you to do before we begin.  You will need to gather a few things that we will be using regularly so take today to get them rounded up...ok?  You will Need:
  • A notebook or Journal with a pen or pencil
  • A Tape Recorder and tapes
  • A regular time slot that you can meditate daily..whether this be morning, during the day, or evening...this is your choice.  But set about 30 to 45 minites aside that you can have for nothing else.
  • A Meditation Area...some suggestions will be explained in a seperated post.
  • Kleenexes
  • Optional: Candles , Incense, background natural sounds music...(no voices).

As time goes on, I may ask that you have other things , but for now, this is all you need.  So Go get prepared and I will be starting the next step tomorrow as we start our journey to Medtiative Ways.

   I now have your names recorded on my roster and will be checking the responses with this list so know that each lesson will be depending on the rollcall response.  Your comments and questions are very important with each lesson so I know that you have done it and are ready to move forward.  I hope to gie you an average of three days to a week depending on the workings involved so post often and we will all get the most we can out of this wonderful series.  With that I will post the first instruction and excercise tomorrow.  See you then...

Ok...

 and don't be nervous!!...

There are a few things that you need to know before we do the first meditation...

1.  Get out your Meditation Journal or a notebook to write in...You could even treat yourself and buy a new "special" pen that you use just for this.

2.  Turn off any distracting things like radio, tv, phones, and if the family pet needs to go out...make sure that is done before you set down for your meditation.

3.  Do you know how to breathe to relax?...Here is a mini lesson...

Blow your nose...(hehee...I am serious,  you need a clear nose for this...)  it also may help to take a breath of vicks or a caugh drop if you are "stuffy"..(don't think I am wierd...that is just so that you can breathe deep)  

 Now, take a deeee-eeep breath through your nose and hold it to the count of four..1...2....3....4...

now, blow out slowly through your mouth as if you are blowing on soup to cool it...


This is something you will do before each meditation... so learn to relax those muscles...

You will do some deep breathing before every meditation so this is very important and will soon become a natural signal to your body to center.

Hi Everyone,
 
   Many times when you run on to a blank area in your meditation. , know that you are controling your focus.  and that is good...you have successfully mastered the focus.  Your mind is focused on your intent!  Great!!
 
   When we look at wanting to see different parts of ourselves as in Meditation #2 and the area is blank...we are in process of transisision and not ready to look at past or future...do not worry about that.  Your inner being knows what is best for your progress so just go with what you are seeing and accept it as what is needed right now...if it is empty...look deeper and see what is in the room...this also can be important.  It does not have to be a person..it can be a "feeling" you percieve as you enter...focus on the feeling...is it peaceful...is it apprehensive...are you scared...or curious...?  you HAVE been successful in this meditation so do not think it is wrong...it is right for you..each of us percieves something special...we just have to see what it is.  I am going to ask each of you to focus on feelings this time as you experience this meditation...I will wait a bit longer before posting # 3 ...let's hear what you are feeling...ok?...and if you have any questions...ask them and we will be here to help!
