Lesson 21: Shielding By Spell
Shielding by spell involves two forms. One is creating a shield with a spell and the other is programming a shield with a spell.
An example of creating a type of shield with a spell is when, at the beginning of a ritual, the four directional quarters are called and raised. This creates a circle or boundary where negative or harmful entities cannot cross. It is usually static in that you can move, but it won’t.
Programming a shield with a spell puts the spell to the shield and, as you move, the shield moves, and therefore the spell with it. So the two main differences is that one is more static than the other.
Spells reinforce shields. As you create your shield, this is the time for you to put a spell on it. You can later do a spell but it won’t be as effective as if it were done in the process of creating it.
Determining the specific situations and if and when you need to put a spell on a shield will depend on yourself. Use your intuition.
Paying attention to the moon phases will help your spells as well. (New Moon–beginnings, Full Moon–Power, Dark of the Moon–Banishing, Waxing–Building, Waning–Reworking or rebuilding)
Spells that help shield can be as simple or as complicated as you wish. The time it takes to apply the spell is also up to you.
Incantations can be short prose (poetry) to a simple sentence.
Examples are the usual familiar poetry seen in some type of needlework, “Bless This House? to an all out prose.
Exercise A:
To the following situations, make up a spell for, when you do the spell and an explanation of why. Post your spells if you wish.
**Remember, there is no right or wrong. Just write what you feel.
1. You’re bank account has an error in which you need to visit a branch to try to correct.
2. Another driver has cut you off in traffic.
3. Someone bumps into you unexpectedly in a line.
Exercise B:
Post any other scenarios that you encounter regularly and what you do about them to improve the situation of all involved.
